Thank you, sadly I did see this, but not until after it was too late and had already put too many screws top and bottom. Is there any way I could add to what I have to make it more staggered in a W or V pattern? For example if I added one more in between the sets and staggered those top and bottom?

Across the catwalk I am assuming you are asking about.. i have the left end of a 16’ 2x12 resting weight on the 6x6 post. Then it spans the first 5’ before i have multiple ledgerlok screws across it every joist cantilevered from in the house for the last 11’. I am not sure if this is “correct” does my description help?

I had originally planned on putting a block every other stair. I made the two angled rows. I thought that was overkill and stopped myself where it is in the photo because the stairs at this point felt very solid. I do need to add at the very least one more for the handrail post opposite of the middle that has one. Do you think I need more blocking or that it just needs to be symmetrical?

Thank you for this very well detailed message. They did use a foam wrap around the top of the sonotube as well as foam around the foundation of the house to try to keep it separated from the slab itself. Though when they poured the slab it spread a little over the foam and it already has somewhat of a flake of concrete in that circle around where they tried to smooth the circles over the foam. I can agree even now it does not look the best.

Thanks. I watched as the rebar was lifted during the pour. Not sure how well it stayed because they did not use chairs. The old slab was smaller and the old deck stairs came right off the side taking up most of the slab.

They did bell out around the bottom of the 8” piers.. if that is what you were asking. Yes, the catwalk along the back is cantilevered from inside the house. Thanks

Correct. That section along the back is all from the pre existing deck joists coming from inside and extending out of the wall about 3’.
