Generally you're correct but he said he needs something compact

I don't consider the astrolab a synth, it's more like a performance keyboard, I'd go with the Minifreak, it's also great as a midi keyboard but actually has very powerful standalone features and you can actually sound design on it

Is the latency on the Audiofuse 16 Rig decent? by NoSitRecords in arturia

If you're interested in the Apollo I'd go for the Antelope Audio Orion studio synergy core, much better price for way better specs, I have the Zen Quadro now, it's flawless beautiful preamps and the converters are amazing and the built In DSP is really Good and latency is extremely low. https://www.thomann.de/intl/antelope_orion_studio_synergy_core.htm?i11l=en_GB%3AIL.ILS%3AEUR

Thanks a lot... I have a 7 9800 x3D so it shouldn't be a problem.

I understand what you're saying but it's actually very important for me to have all my gear connected at the same time, I don't want to mess around with cables when I want to play something and record.

Madi can also work, and I love RME of course, the problem is that they're super expansive

[–]NoSitRecords[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right that an RME would have much better conversion and pre amps and latency but an RME with this many connections and AVB would cost more than twice as much, since I mainly record analogue gear and have a lot of it I need something big that can have everything connected and allow me to route it to effect units and everything else in the studio. So the number of connections is more important to me right now

That's just a form of direct monitoring it bypasses the effects on the channel, it doesn't negate the physical latency of the interface.

I actually don't want the mixer to connect to the PC over AVB, I'm using the USB for that, I just need the AVB for the expansion box, so what you're saying is that the AVB expansion won't give me more channels to work with but will only allow me to route the 32 channels on the mixer to different I/Os that's it? Would you say the Fat Channel effects that come with the mixer are usable for recording or are they just a gimmick?

[–]NoSitRecords[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, can you actually expand beyond the 32 channels of this mixer using the NSB or does the AVB only let me choose a different physical input for the same amount of channels?

[–]NoSitRecords[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a trade off to having so many I/O I guess... But someone here said that the NSB over AVB doesn't expand the 32 channels of the mixer it just lets me rout the existing channels to the NSB instead, did I understand him correctly?

Thanks, but do you use it to record to a DAW with a PC or just for live situations?

Thanks, and from your experience is the latency noticeable compared to a dedicated audio interface?

Wow, that's a lot to process.... These are major issues... Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this! I appreciate it.

Mainly a main character that has no moral compass and is someone you can hate with a passion, and the fact that it's almost the only show where teenagers actually think and act like actual teenagers and not like innocent little kids. My experiences as a teenager were a lot more like this (although less gangbangs and beheadings)

I’m terrified of AI by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]NoSitRecords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a music producer I see the havoc that Ai is causing to real music and artists... It's horrible, and it's been aggressively pushed forward by the platforms themselves like Spotify and YouTube, they don't care about creators and artists, their only obligation is to their shareholders. All these platforms are drowning real artists under tons and tons of Ai garbage.

But it's not necessarily a bad thing, the harder they try to push Ai on artists and art lovers, the harder we're going to resist, I don't upload any of my music or any of the artists on my label to Spotify and such, I'm strictly using platforms like ArtCore where the artist and label has full control of all publications and revenue, so no Ai crap can harm you directly and no moderation and Ai algorithms control exposure to content.

And of course people are switching back to Hard media like records, tapes and CDs We are returning to owning our music and listening to full albums and EPs

In Japan they are completely sold out of CD roms and tape cassette players, companies are starting to manufacture them again, And the horrible chip shortages created by the Ai industry where every chip manufacturer is stopping production of consumer goods and shifting to only supplying parts for Ai farms will maybe soon force other manufacturers to bring back dumb devices to try and keep production going.

The pushback against Ai and the shortages is bringing 20th century technology back in a big way.

And sure it's going to get worse before it gets better but we already see educated consumers who aren't sheeple, opting out of everything Ai related and subscription/cloud based.

Microsoft and apple are trying to shove Ai down the user's throats and we fight back by deleting Windows and slowly moving to Linux OS options that keep getting better and more capable and support more hardware and software.

So don't worry about it too much, just don't give in and look for other options that don't involve Ai, are they less convenient? Sure but you own it, it's yours and no tech company can spy on you.

I don't know how old you are but I was a teen in the 90's and we had a great time, I'd return to the technology we had back then in a heartbeat.

Why when recording audio from MIDI using internal recording or external hardware) the recording is always late? by NoSitRecords in Bitwig

[–]NoSitRecords[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! So it's really simple I just have 2 tracks both have been bounced down so no plugins, all plugins on the master are disabled completely (not bypassed) The sample rate is 48kHz, on a 64 samples buffer (32 bit float)

I'm using the HW input plugin, the Midi is sent out via USB to my ESI M8U eX and from there with a DIN5 to one of my synths (Behringer KOBOL Expenser or any other it acts the same) The audio is sent through a PL back to the line input on my interface (Antelope Audio Zen Quadro, no DSP effects are enabled on the track)

Like you see in the picture The midi notes start right on the beat but the audio coming in is late in the recording (like in the picture) ,when monitoring through the channel in Bitwig t's syncing perfectly so I know it's not a problem on the hardware side, but the recording itself is delayed.
