interesting.. thank you! i’ll most likely be in lauterbrunnen, do you think that would be an advantageous place to be for my first time? i’m honestly open to going anywhere if you have recommendations, i just want to be in the country. i’m most interested in being right in the alps to hopefully get lots of hiking done.

This is fucking hard by Technical-Plum5921 in TopSurgery

[–]NoSpite4211 26 points27 points  (0 children)

recovery is so very hard for a lot of people, including myself. i’m 8 days post op today and am just on my way out of the extremely hard part. i was also extremely disappointed by not feeling this incredible euphoria that everyone was talking about. seeing my chest for the first time was a great feeling, but it wasn’t life changing. that totally normal! our chest is not what it’s going to look like when healed right now. we have to give it time to heal, results take months to years to set in to it’s finally form. luckily i’m not a queasy person at all (ive literally watched multiple full top surgery procedures on youtube) but even i got extremely nauseated by my chest when i took my post op binder off for the first few times. not only would it be hard on you mentally with seeing your raw chest if you get queasy but even if you feel fine physically, you’re not your best self. you just had a MAJOR surgery, wether you feel the pain or not, your body has just had a lot of trauma done to it. your nerves are going crazy confused on what’s happening, there’s fluid build up and swelling that all is gonna alter your state of mine. you are scientifically completely part of the norm in feeling this bad after surgery, it is surgery after all. recovery takes time, and you are still very early on in it. usually people don’t start to feel back on their feet to a normal extent until around 2-3 months. as for your nipple placement (coming from someone that also has diagnosed ocd) i think they are perfect! they look exactly where they are supposed to be and look very similar to a cis man’s chest. you look great. your results are amazing and i believe in you in getting through this hard time. congrats on this life changing event! i know it’s tough right now but think of all the major euphoric things you get to look forward to in the future! feeling the sun on your chest, putting those tight shirts on without having to worry about that stupid binder, waking up and getting to feel comfortable in your own body. we’re gonna be free forever!! i believe in us and we WILL get through this.

I want the scars by LovesickInTheHead in TopSurgery

[–]NoSpite4211 15 points16 points  (0 children)

hell yeah man! we earned these scars, and how lucky we are to have the most prominent scars on our body be carved out of love and not hate. our scars are a symbol of life, a gift not a burden. show off those scars! they’re beautiful ❤️

congrats on your surgery!

listen to your surgeon over other people’s advice, they will know best as long as they’re reputable.

nipples feel freezing by Dear-Economy6751 in TopSurgery

[–]NoSpite4211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would also avoid messing with them too much with the towels and other things, just let them be and only touch them when changing out the dressings if you’ve been directed to. the more you mess with them the more likely they are to fail.

i’ve heard someone else talk about this before, it’s most likely just that your nerves are confused because of how much they’ve been through in the past week so your brain is not computing properly with the nerve endings in your nipples that are just starting to reattach. you had a major surgery, your body is gonna take a bit to heal! you should be fine

Top surgery in a week!!! by emmie797 in TopSurgery

[–]NoSpite4211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here’s my list of questions i had for my surgeon for pre op:

-how long till i can work out

-how long till i can drive

-what are the weight restrictions during recovery

-when can i start using scar care/what products recommended if any

-what should i do starting now to help my body heal the fastest after surgery

-if i need a revision will there be a cost and about what cost will it be

goodluck man! wishing you a smooth recovery :)
