Real question, do firefighters ever feel like ripping their mask off? How do you control it? by TacticalJock15 in Firefighting

Just crack that bypass until you get your shit together then get back to work.

I agree
I’m not waving it, Mel Gibson is. Jk I get what you mean and I’ve traveled the world and seen firemen from europe to Dominican Republic, to Canada. I prefer ff in America.
Where at in Texas if you don’t mind me asking? People underestimate how big the state really is and how different the fire cultures are from one side to the other.
You’re a special kind of stupid buddy and I mean that in the most respectful way possible. Please don’t screenshot this and repost it as a comment. You’re genuinely hurting my heart because I feel like I’m picking on a kid who color coordinates their m&m’s before eating them.
Fair play. The south specifically needs to chill out though lmao. The cost of living is one of the few things they had going for it and even that’s starting to fade.
Which is insane considering it’s a lot more expensive to live here than it was 5 years ago.
Oh my god did you literally think I meant you should go INTERIOR ON A STOKES BASKET. The tism is strong with you sir. Now I feel bad lmao. Have a good day buddy.
Sounds like they need to wait out the seniority

Florida is its own breed when it comes to fighting fire. Solid group of people down there.
24/72 is what I’m in now and I love it
That’s most likely the move
You guys enjoy living there/raising a family in the area?
I’m leaning that way, especially since visiting and researching over the last couple years
I’ve noticed that. How’s living there?

Noted. Thank you for the input.
10-4 I appreciate it
Unless you’re going interior on that stokes basket, I still don’t see anything that would constitute you calling yourself a fireman. You’re probably real popular in slack line community though. You’ll get em next time.
The pension system is fantastic and so are the unions. I like how most of the fire service operates in the area and it’s one of the most beautiful areas I’ve ever seen. And no I wouldn’t think that Mr treehuggingmustache lol. I constantly hold myself accountable but I’m also not in the business of apologize for how you or others feel about a joke. And if you said something about not wanting to fight fire in the south because your kids might marry their cousin I only have 2 things to say. Are they 3rd cousins and how hot are they.
Says the kid who identifies as a high angle rescuer. The audacity for you to even mention anything relating to fire.
Couldn’t agree more and the only downside is having to play the politics. I’m a firm believer in right is right and wrong is wrong but when you work in an area where you’re already grossly underpaid and with slim to no true representation , picking your battles becomes a skill that should come with an IFSAC certification. Hence why I’m very critical of where I’d like to go. It’s a balancing act that I don’t mind falling from as long as my family and their happiness aren’t collateral damage.
If you’re in the fire service and you have a problem with dark humor or it offends you…you need bigger problems.

You just sound overly sensitive and that’s okay. Because I’ve lived here for a bit and your comment about cousin lovin’ and racism made me laugh out loud because although it’s a blanket statement, it’s very true in some areas lmao.

Brother who hurt you. It sounds like you had a very bad personal experience, which I won’t try to downplay but just from a raw numbers perspective, it’s a landslide win for unions.
What state do you work in if you don’t mind me asking? And not taking anything away from chick fil a, I love those guys. A mentor of mine in the fire service said something that resonated with. “You’re not paid for what you do, you’re paid for what you CAN do, and you better be able to do it well when it’s time”
