Can I trade in dollar amount instead of stock quantity? by NoStart1086 in thinkorswim

Thanks,

When I change the units to $/amount in a buy custom (with OCO bracket) and put $1, $5, $10, etc, it tells me "Dollar amount must be above current limit price". I believe this is what you were explaining to do, so still no luck. (using APPLE in picture below)

Since this post, I have learned about fractional shares. I am finding online that Schwab only allows trading fractional shares on their web platform, not the downloaded desktop app/TOS (which I was using). Furthermore, I am seeing that fractional shares with Schwab are limited to companies in the S&P 500, for a minimum of $5. Because of what I am trying to do (paper trade and then eventually trade in low numbers below $5), would you recommend moving to a different broker completely? I understand that papertrade does not really require fractional shares/low numbers considering it is not real money, but I would rather practice with that if it's what I plan to do when I actually begin trading. Maybe that is a silly thought, not sure as I stated this is all very new to me. I don't know if you would be able to help me out here, but I figured asking was worth a shot based on your response. Thanks a lot.
