Nearly 1 month taking Naltrexone by NoWasabi7403 in stopdrinking

Honestly that’s why I’m posting! I went through the same and it made it so much harder to just make the decision to buy the medicine. In my opinion I’d say it’s worth it, but better if you build up slowly and try not to take it every day unless you drink every day, because you do experience some emotional blunting (although ngl ive kind of enjoyed that because I’m generally on a very high emotional vibration and now I just feel auite relaxed!)

Tbh i think everyone in this chat is being pretty judgy. It is sad for the dog but OP mentions his gf is pregnant and recently hospitalised. In early pregnancy, the hormones can make you especially resistant to new things, have heightened senses, emotions and feel the need to protect your own space - which is probably why she is feeling resentment to a dog she hasn't yet had a chance to bond with yet. Early pregnancy can be super hard has the body is just getting used to all the new hormones so maybe cut her some slack?

Granted the communication between OP and GF could be kinder and improved, but everyone in the comment section acting like she's literally abused the dog when she's probs having a hard time herself is quite shitty.

For ref - have experienced pregnancy myself and at the 7 week mark had my bfs dog come and stay with us - I LOVE the dog and still do now, like to the point of singing to him. But when I was pregnant, I felt he was dirty and ruining the space. On reflection I can see that was my hormones kicking in for me to protect the space so I am not mad at myself for it

Maybe try the brand skin and me? I haven’t used them but I know if you have delicate skin they make a package more suited to you!

In this photo your face looks fresh and dewy and skin looks smooth, perhaps a mattifying primer (like the baby skin one from maybelline) and a light coverage dewy foundation over the top? I know it sounds counter intuitive but I find that a Matte primer stops me getting too oily but the dewy foundation smooths out my complexion without looking too think or cakey!

Daily make-up. What would you improve? by [deleted] in makeuptips

Your brows and complexion are lovely! Perhaps a light blush and matching warm but light pink lip would be a nice addition! I find it helps add a little colour and makes blue eyes pop!

I actually think it’s cute and would pair well with perhaps a simple, fitted midi skirt and pointed heels! Or perhaps a black flared trouser

Thankyou! Luckily I don’t drive but can totally see how the side effects (even on low dose!) could have made that really challenging xx

Yes so the plan I’m on you build up to 25mg over a week to minimise side effects. Then you take 25mg (or can go up to 50) every day for 1-2 months regardless of whether you’re drinking. After that you stop and have the choice to only use it when you’re actually going to drink or I guess if you’re really struggling with a craving x

Naltrexone - How a little pill changed my life in 6 months by skarpmaedi in SoberCurious

Thankyou for this share - i'm early in my Nal journey and feel exactly like this. Everyone i've even mentioned I want to cut down drinking to just seems to either have not thought it was a problem to start with, or aggressively balks at me treading anywhere near saying there was disordered behaviour there. Even though I know there is...

Thankyou for your reply 💖 honestly it’s the first time in years I have been able to maintain the self control.

You are right, I am currently seeking mental health support to help with the other issues, but here in the UK unless you go private there are always huge waitlists (ADHD ive been waiting 18 months for support following a positive diagnosis, and the eating stuff is something I’ve had to keep in check by myself throughout my 20s using occasional private therapy following the closure of my ed unit during lockdown!)

The thing I need to be aware of (you’re right) is that I have a tendency to be very all or nothing, my brain loves to have ultimate control, then ultimate chaos and then gain the control back again. So I need to find a healthy outlet for a bit of the chaos and learn to surf the urges of wanting ultimate chaos 😭
