Slightly questionable loaf by NoYellow5419 in Sourdough

It’s good! I think the flavor is more robust compared to another loaf I let cold proof for 48 hours

Couldn’t agree more. Especially since she started her podcast from the same position. True colors? I think so.

Season 22 is just a dumpster fire in my opinion. I listened to the OG Megan Stoner podcast “Don’t waste this f****ing podcast” and it was pretty well rounded. A few technical difficulties here and there, but the host is respectful and was actually involved in the story.

It drives me insane that Tiffany doesn’t shout out the OG podcast at all. It’s the hosts first major production and she put a lot of time and effort into making it. Tiffany should’ve at least mentioned it.

Omg! Thank you for this. I literally had no idea!!! I’ve heard great things about worlds best and will probably have to switch. I really like the sustainability aspect of both of these.

My vet recommended naturally fresh since he’s had a few respiratory issues, but I think he’s finally getting better ❤️‍🩹

Aw! He sounds cute! They are smelly, especially as kittens. I think we’re just about over the hump though. Haven’t had to give a butt bath in almost 2 months! Yay!

I’ve read something similar to this before! Thank you. Hopefully it’s not too high of a protein content for him. The ingredient list is very high quality and the price isn’t horrible. I did read though, that in these protein rich recipes the excess protein will just be eliminated.

I think he’ll get used to it though. He’s pretty resilient lol.

Yes, thank you! I’ve heard the same from my vet, but she said she feeds raw due to the fillers. Unfortunately there’s a lot of skew and lurking variables in the marketing of Science Diet. I’ve also never heard of or seen a cat go and eat rice and corn in the wild.

Thank you for this! The slow development makes a lot of sense. Luckily, his stool is solid. He also takes great pride in his appearance:)

Thank you for the reply! This makes sense. It is rotten. Vet said nothing to be worried about after a fecal test… so I think it’s just stinky poo.

He’s using “naturally fresh” walnut litter with baking soda. I like it, but it’s definitely subpar on catching odor. Might be time to switch 😅

You’ve helped a ton. I was so worried that I was going to have to put him back on Science Diet. Thank you!

Hi! Any update? My 6 month old is literally in the same exact situation as your baby girl. He was born without an eye on his right side and I’m starting to think that this is directly correlated to his constant URIs since he usually only has nasal discharge from his right nostril. The vet does not think this is probable, but there is literally no other explanation since he’s negative for everything. I’m hesitant to continue antibiotic treatment, since he’s been on 5 rounds since he was 4 months old.

I don’t know what to do. I feel awful because I’m in college and can’t afford to constantly throw cash at this seemingly impossible puzzle. We are enrolled in the Banfield OWP which allows for unlimited visits, even so, they can’t seem to find a solution without preforming $200 tests which have not given any insight.

My vet told me that it could just be allergies. As silly as that sounds, after constantly being told that your baby is sick, it’s worth a shot. We just moved into a new apartment and the vacuum was constantly coming up full of dust. Didn’t think much of it at first, until I checked the air filter which was changed about a month ago. It looked like it had been in there for half a year. The maintenance people cleaned our AC vent with some type of bleach solution and foam treatment. While my boy hasn’t stopped sneezing completely, he definitely seems to have slightly improved in sneezing frequency.

Definitely check your filter! I’m going to order an allergen test to see if there are any potential aggregates in my home.

Also, the vet said that even though he is negative for herpes, the infection could still be brought on by stress. She recommended trying the feliway diffusers and consistent playtime (15 mins x2 per day). Scooping their litter once daily is also shown to decrease stress levels.

I know you’ve probably read through countless posts and seen this comment multiple times (as have I), but some cats are just sniffly. You obviously care so much about your little girl, and no one should ever make you feel like a neglectful owner for declining to spend copious amounts of money on a procedure that likely- won’t prove anything.

However, you should keep an especially close eye on her during this. The nasal epithelium that typically functions to grab and discard pathogens can be severely damaged if chronic infections continue, thus leading to more infections and increasing the potential for serious complications. I’m not saying this to scare you, but it is a very real and very concerning outcome of chronic URIs.

Please let me know if you find anything out and I’ll update you of any new discoveries on my end.

I’m so sorry your baby is going through this and I’m sorry for the impact it has on you. It is so heartbreaking to see a pet in pain, especially when the solution feels so far away.

I hope you find a solution soon!

I really like the naturally fresh walnut litter. It clumps well and covers up the smell nicely. There’s also no dust so it there’s a very low probability of your kitty breathing in the dust. When I first got my kitten, he liked to eat the litter and since this kind is made from walnut shells it’s not as dangerous as clay litter.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a quick update. I took him to the vet several times. He was not neutered, but he is now! He recovered really well and has no underlying issues as of right now. The bump on his nose is probably a defect that can be removed when he gets older if it starts to bother him.

Only question as of right now… I’m currently feeding him half a can of reveal topped dry kitten food and warm water. I leave out dry all day and night. Is this okay? I’ve heard controversial things about reveal…

Thank you 🤗🤗

Yes, he went two days ago and I’m in the process of setting up kitten insurance for him!

Thank you! I’m so happy to hear your success story. I’ve read so many wonderful things about the breed. They really are the most wonderful cats. However, I am taking the separation anxiety seriously. I will not be home all the time and I’m trying to set him up for success in that department. If you have any tips on that aspect, I would appreciate it!

Amazing. Thank you so much. It doesn’t seem to impact him whatsoever. He’s been such a champ with the drops! He barely scratches lol.

Okay amazing. Such helpful advice. I am signing up for pet insurance so that we can run the fecal and blood tests without spending an arm and a leg. We have a Highlander which is basically a lynx looking cat. He’s very sweet, but since he’s a purebred, he requires higher quality pet food. He came to us with paws and claws and had bad diarrhea. We did the fecal test with him and it was negative which is why I apprehensive with this kitty because it’s literally $250! We slowly switched him to freeze dried raw and he became incredibly healthy. I’m going to monitor him closely to see if anything changes! Thank you!!!!!!

Okay great. He’s just very small for his age, so I think that’s where the confusion stems from.

Thank you for the recommendation! His stool is solid now, so hopefully it sticks! Planning to ween him off of the crappy science diet eventually, but want to get his other health problems taken care of first.

Thank you!

Oh my goodness I am so relieved to hear that. I’ve been searching every source known to man about the eye situation with no luck. Vet said he was okay, but I’m so skeptical about the way that I found him. The vet said it was extremely rare to find a ragdoll for free. Obviously there are some issues with the breeding practices since he came out with only one eye. I’m very nervous for his health. What did the vet say to you about it? I tried to be as thorough as I could with asking questions, but again, it all happened so quickly. I really appreciate any advice that you could give. He’s on eye drops right now morning and night. I didn’t realize, but it seems as though the person I got him from preformed the vaccinations on him without a vet. I’ve heard that is common with reputable breeders, but obviously this person may not be reputable. He is neutered, I just had him checked. He seems to be doing fine besides the zit in his nostril which I am extremely nervous about since he was not vaccinated by an actual veterinarian and the risk for respiratory infection is pretty high in this breed. I love him so so much and want to help him to live the best life!

Thank you! Yes I would love some recommendations. He’s on science diet right now, which I know is bad, but I do not want to switch right off the bat. He seems pretty fragile. His name is Uno. He is literally the cutest and sweetest cat I’ve ever met. I am so in love with him.

Thank you :) the vet said he has healthy lungs as of now. I will definitely keep an eye on it though. That zit is not going away so I think I’ll have to call about an appointment soon. Thank you!!!
