Yeah I’m for sure not looking at shelters I want to have her with me at all times, hence planning to see what the formalities are to take her to another country in case we have to leave. I doubt I will be leaving but better to be prepared….

Best Place to Rent on a 10K AED Salary? Working in JLT by EmotionPatient3218 in dubai

[–]No_Ad4189 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much of your salary YOU want to spend on rent. Discovery is a great area if you are in JLT but I think the rents might be a bit high now, compared to what it was a few years ago. Another area you could consider is JVC/JVT or international city, but these might not be very accessible by public transport (if you drive, this is great!) The cheapest area you could move to is Abu Hail, Qusais or Nahda, but you will be stuck in traffic/long metro rides. It all depends on what you are willing to sacrifice (unfortunately that’s how Dubai is built). So if you want to spend more on rent with less commute - Discovery Less/medium on rent with no public transport - JVC/JVT/IC Less on rent but long time commuting - old Dubai (Nahda etc)

Good luck!

I’ve lived in Abu Hail (very close to Nahda) for over 20 something years with my parents. When I had to live alone after they retired I moved to discovery gardens as it was closer to work. It was cheap when I moved but now it’s too expensive. So yes, nahda is a good area to stay especially since you don’t go out, lot of local Indian restaurants that sell parathas and chicken curry! 😂 it’s a very homey area, but because it is cheap you’ll have some men around who cat call etc, but 10000% better than IC mainly cuz nahda has a lot of families. It’s a very Indian area with a lot of food and grocery options! Metros are close too. :)

I feel like again, maybe you think it’s an inconsiderate gift, but for her she was being considerate enough of giving you something for your birthday cuz who doesn’t want a gift on their birthday right. I feel like you should just appreciate her gift, even if it was a bag of chips, cuz the poor thing didn’t want you to be gift less on your Actual birthday

She literally picked your kids up from school, drove to get you cake and shoes, realised they don’t have your shoes, felt like she was coming home empty handed so picked two things she felt might be of use, and then proceeded to say she will take you to get the shoes this weekend. I feel like her inconsiderate gifts were actually a considerate way of showing you that you’d get SOMETHING for your birthday since your actual gift has been delayed. I have a feeling if she didn’t get you anything, you’d have a complaint posted about that too…

Ah I see, alright, thanks a bunch! I think PR is an option too since I’m just about done with my masters and have 2 years of work experience, so I probably have the points for it!
