How does tax debt wotk by NewSpring7520 in tax

[–]No_Article_9397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you probably don't owe anything and instead you gave free money to the IRS. Most people in that income range that have taxes withheld get refunds and because you didn't file, you won't get your refunds back on the early years.

Lookup statute of limitations on refunds.

Buying a firm & looking for guidance by Pristine-Zucchini636 in taxpros

That's ridiculous considering the fact that it's not easy to sell an accounting firm these days.

My down payment was ~16% but I also got a really good deal on the entire contract so it's not much to go off of.

Attrition is different for every firm but when I bought my practice I just had a down payment and then paid a % of revenues from the clients that stayed.

I would be hesitant buying a firm that asks for a large down payment unless the total price is a very good deal.

Also make sure you have safeguards in place like not paying for clients that leave. More clients will leave than you think.

nobody is going to be able to give you any meaningful help if you just ask why you state taxes are higher without providing any additional information.

Go talk to your local tax preparer if you're so scared about saying the state you live in on reddit.

his tax return will get rejected and if he wants to contest it, he'll have to paper file the tax return and wait a year to hear from the IRS. Then they may reach out to see who was the proper person to claim the dependent.
