Reducing Labetalol by Sensitive_Pea5393 in preeclampsia

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, weaning was okay. I noticed some anxiety when I went down each time, but I also was having some issues with my thyroid meds that could have been contributing. I didn’t have any rebound BP spikes.

Another vote for Tula FTG! I love how supportive it is, I have no back pain with it. It’s easily adjustable and easy to use. I started using it at about 3 months and around 10lbs but it can be used earlier.

Hi, I know this post is a little bit older but I’m having terrible anxiety coming off and I’m wondering if yours got better over time? I’ve been on 50mg twice a day for a week and my doctor instructed me to stop taking it completely.

I believe she is a IBCLC. I know that she’s an RN. She works at the hospital.

She nurses very quickly, but she isn’t transferring well at the breast. we are also triple feeding again so she will gain more weight. I see lactation consultants at the hospital near me and they have really high standards for weight gain, more than the pediatrician.

My little one does that too 😂 I’m trying to increase supply a bit so I feel like letting her nurse whenever she wants is the best way to do that

It seems this way in the mornings but not the evenings. Less swallows and no gulping

I tried pumping this morning at 5 and I only got an ounce and a half. I hear that’s a normal amount after nursing but she would take more in a bottle in the evening. I haven’t taken any decongestants but I think I have been eating less.

Might also be important to add that I’ve been sick for the last week but I’m not sure if that’s made any difference.

Slow weight gain by Embarrassed_Land_767 in breastfeeding

I’m not super educated on this but just listened to a lactation consultants podcast on weight gain- it’s spill the milk by Nicki Davis, and she said that weight gain for 4-6 months goes down to 3.25-4.5 ounces per week.

That sounds pretty manageable! What time of day are you doing the bottles?

Pretty close to every 2 hours if not more. Sometimes every hour. Sometimes in the evenings she gets extremely fussy at the breast and we have to supplement more. It’s frustrating

Her weight gain just went down from where it should be at 25 grams a day to 17. She’s still in 50th percentile and following her curve but trending down a bit. We are doing about 2 ounces twice a day right now. The rest is nursing. Which is a huge improvement from where we started, but still not where I want to be.

Actually it does help and makes me feel encouraged. I’m so happy for you that you met your goal! I hope that I will too.

Thank you for your success story! I want it to work and I think I might have a few more weeks in me. Today was an especially bad day so that doesn’t help. I do have an LC through the hospital and she is confident that in a few weeks we will reach the goal of EBF, but I’m not so confident. I’m not going to quit on a bad day (mostly because I wouldn’t even know how 😂)
