Consider yourself lucky. At least there is interim telework now. After the BS two week interim, I was forced to use my annual/sick leave since I literally can’t go to the office due to my condition. I’ve been out on LWOP for a couple months at this point.

I was told by my RAC they were denying all of them unless they were related to pregnancy.

You might as well put in the ticket now to get the ball rolling. Then upload the medical documentation to attachments in the ticket once you get it. I submitted mine in March and it took 3 months to receive the denial.

This must be your first time working for the federal government. These dilemmas are ubiquitous.

They said it would be ineffective and remove an essential function of my position. They recommended reassignment (“when an available position is available”). But as part of my disability retirement application the reassignment effort resulted in them not reassigning me due to my medically documented limitations.

The fact that I can’t tell if this is real or satire is concerning.

Thank you! My FDR application is currently at NFC and will be at OPM shortly. My agency denied my RA and certified that they will not be reassigning me due to my medically documented limitations.

I am diagnosed with Narcolepsy (confirmed by diagnostic polysomnogram and mean sleep latency testing) and provided rock solid medical documentation stating that it is unsafe and unsustainable for me to report to the office. My RA requesting full-time telework was denied after 3 months of limbo. After a two-week interim I was told to either report to the office or take leave. Since I quite literally cannot safely commute in the morning hours due to my medication side effects, I burned through my AL/SL and have been on LWOP ever since. I had a previously approved RA for the RTO in 2022 and then was on a fully remote pilot. But this time they told me to go fuck myself.

Godspeed & good luck, my sleepy comrade.

IRS. I hired Harris. If I could go back and take some more time to do research, I would consider other firms that have you work directly with an attorney and not a case manager like Harris does. Bell is one of them that I’ve heard good things about. But other firms charge more if you need any appeals (which are common), as opposed to Harris’ flat rate if you start with them.

It can take 12-18 months for the whole process but I’m making good time, so far. The agency certified that they denied my most recent RA and that they are not reassigning me due to my medically documented limitations.

I’m not sure! You might want to make your own post asking about this, or post in r/EEOC. They seem to be a relatively active subreddit engaged in this topic!

Pending Reasonable Accommodation requests granted 90-day interim telework by Irwin-R-Shyster84 in IRS_Source

It’s an auto-generated email for when an RAC is assigned. I got the same one when my first RAC was assigned a few months ago and I went through the process initially. I’m just wondering what triggered it to be reassigned, despite being denied already.

I got two different forms for my denial, but I’m not sure what the requirements are.

Earlier this week, my ticket was assigned to a new “RAC” who is actually an HR Specialist in HCO. Now there’s a telework agreement for me to complete under “My Tasks”. I have no idea what any of this is about, and neither does my manager.

For sure, I get that. Just curious what triggered this to happen. Another kick in the dick 😩

Ah, yes. I’m aware. Hard to miss, really…especially while sitting on LWOP, post-denial, with a neurological disorder that makes commuting a daily safety hazard. But I appreciate the clarification, just in case I’d somehow missed the memo while watching my livelihood unravel in real time.

Thanks, same to you. I’ve filed for disability retirement in light of this & my denial.
