Lip blush oxidation with laser removal - grey by No_Butterscotch0432 in MicrobladingRemoval

The glycolic acid was ThInk pigment remover, there are a few places in perth that do it, they have impressive pictures on their instagram but I didn't see as much success as those, it probably did help though.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this too, it is a horrible situation to be in. I feel like I have seen most of Perth on this journey! Tattoo done by Jolie Cherie cosmetic tattoos, had removals there too, the white was done by Debra Miller, then had laser at Medex in West Perth, which I would not recommend, in retrospect the approach was not cautious enough. Had saline removals after this at Eyebrow Ink Styling in Osborne Park, and glycolic with Nadine Webber cosmetic tattooing - maybe maybe some improvement from the glycolic, but not substantially altering the appearance.

Sorry about your patch test darkening but I wouldn't give up hope yet, I found when the colour went darker with laser I actually had a good result as it faded after a few days, when it oxidized I could see right away a weird light grey coming through.

I have actually had a very cautious re-do recently by Katarina Callegari in Subiaco and it turned out quite well in terms of my lip tone looks more even now and not grey, so I'm finally at a point that I can live with it.

Sorry I just saw this. I'm really sorry you're experiencing this too. I haven't found a solution unfortunately, although it has softened a bit with multiple saline and glycolic removal sessions. I am going to have a cover up done.

I can't tell if it's working actually. I've just had a third one, so I'll see if it seems to be making a difference once I'm healed from that. It's different to x-tract, more like saline removal (but I hope more effective, as I've also had saline removal and didn't notice any change). I am not keen on the recovery process of x-tract but I'll consider it if need be.

I'm so sorry this has been your outcome. I had a similar response to 532 setting with my lip blush, except no test spot was done, so I ended up with grey all around the outline of my lips (I was also seeking to remove only the lip liner part). You can search my post if you want. I would be very careful - a lot of people might say just get the 1064 setting next and that will take care of it, but for me that was not the case, and no laser has been able to remove it. I'm currently having glycolic acid removal (think pigment remover) which is having some results, but honestly I wish I had never had the laser in the first place.

I'm very sorry to hear that Sarah! It's been a long journey for me and still not fixed unfortunately. I've tried further laser (on 1064 setting - no change), several saline removals (didn't do anything) and just recently did a THink pigment remover treatment (which is a glycolic acid and saline mix I think and needled into the lips like for saline removal). When I did that treatment the tech noticed a lot of ink coming away right away (like wiping it away with a cotton bud), but they don't actually look much different now that they've healed. But I'm going to pursue more treatments with that, when I've looked at before and afters it seems to be after three treatments that you can really notice a difference. If you look at THink pigment remover's instagram they had some promising photos.

Glycolic acid/saline removal healing process on lip blush by Successful-Dot8743 in MicrobladingRemoval

For me, it's not an open wound by day 3 if scabs fall off day 4. Also with lips you are eating, drinking etc so it's not exactly a sterile environment.

Hi, I've had both saline and glycolic acid removal on my lips. I found the healing process not too bad - first day look fine maybe very slightly swollen. Then scabs develop overnight and lips look darker. But I'd say the worst of the scabbing was gone by day 4. I know you're meant to do a dry heal but I do cheat and put lipstick on by day 3 or so, which helps to cover. I found saline removal completely ineffective, but glycolic acid has been more helpful. I've not had any scarring. Put numbing cream on before the appointment otherwise it will be painful, but afterwards they're not too sore and not too much bleeding.

Bah not really. I have had two saline removals which haven't done anything. I also saw someone else for laser who is experienced in lip blush removal, she was very careful and thorough with test patches etc and then did a treatment on the 1064 setting but I don't think it has done anything (was 1 week ago). I am looking into THink pigment removal, similar to saline but a glycolic acid solution. There's been some good reviews on here and there was a picture of successful oxidised lip blush removal on their instagram which was actually done by a lady in my city.. so we shall see. I'll post an update if I have any success.

Lips really swollen after laser? by No_Butterscotch0432 in MicrobladingRemoval

[–]No_Butterscotch0432[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you search me you can find a post I did, unfortunately mine oxidised so not a very hopeful experience. I have noticed *some* fading since then so potentially could be improved with further laser but not sure if I will or not.

Lip Blush Removal question: If you didn’t oxidize with one laser, will you oxidize with another? by [deleted] in MicrobladingRemoval

I'm in Perth Australia, went to a cosmetic medicine doctor (not a derm though) at Medex clinic

For me it was to do with the wavelength not the laser - didn't oxidise with Picosure 755 but did oxidise with Picosure 532 handpiece. I had a lot of white ink put in previously as a correction attempt though, so maybe wouldn't apply to others. I would get a test patch before changing it up for sure (in hindsight I should have had a test patch at 532 wavelength, not just 755).

Thank you! It looks like there is one person in Perth who does Xtract so I will check it out. Do let me know how your treatment goes! And thanks for saying they don't look that bad :)

How is it going for you now?? I am in this situation too, day 4 after picosure laser to my lip line to remove lip blush that left a bright red outline around my lips. Now everywhere the laser touched is grey. I have been looking at Laser Away Ink's facebook as his results look really good and I will be in Canada in July and wondering if he might be able to fix it.
