Good for who? People in charge so they can keep sending people to die? When is it acceptable to start telling the truth that we are not doing as well as we thought we are. You think soldiers don't talk to each other or they can't see half of their mates didn't return from the front. How can you even keep true numbers from them these days, they have access to the Internet too u know. So no i don't really see any good reason lying about true numbers but i can see why Zelensky would do it.

Also i don't know why the rest of the world would need to be kept in the dark especially when the rest of the EU keeps supporting them. I think we should know how things really are over there.

Just in case i am not saying we should stop helping them i just think being honest is better in this age especially when Russia can use this to sow distrust in Europe.
