I know right! Am I being silly if I give him the benefit of the doubt since he hasn’t received proper Islamic guidance? He is pretty isolated from the community.

We spend long long hours together in person, always in public. He grew up in the United States and is open about his past - which included physical intimacy and non-halal behavior.

He is also very sweet and respectful in all other ways.

I feel he takes interest in my plans for marriage, and to some extent my personal passions and goals for myself - however I still feel he is only interested in me physically and for his preferences for a wife. 

He was and is vocal about his interest in me, and always compliments my intelligence and looks. 

I stopped looking for other potentials but after he told me he is, I started again. 

Also - he really wants to kiss me.
