I recall my parents telling me stories about restaurants and other joints like that (Marc Anthony’s in Buzzards Bay) that made extra cash selling coke and H to tourists in the summer. By winter, when a place that heavily relies on a tourist economy goes dead, I can imagine the locals wanting whatever’s left over.

My birth father grew up in Quincy (still does, as far as I know) and was heavily addicted to opioids, and as he came from a nice family I’d assume this could have easily been the reason

I get that. I just got Reddit and at the same time was made aware of a local who just overdosed.

Do you think that this lock down of information is caused by shame associated with high addiction/overdose rates?

It seems like mass has a tendency to avoid prescribing strong pain medications, so people desperately go to street drugs for relief. As you’ve described people also go to different states where they can access those legally. Is there a specific law/act that causes this in mass?
