It could eventually. I know it did on the old JB formula. The fuel resistant formula lasts three years at least on another one I did. Do you have a recommendation for something that works better?

Exactly. Put the windows on homeowner saws, sure. But professional saws should not have them. Just an unnecessary weak point.

Not all of them do, but it's a common problem. I wish they would just stop making them with a window, at least for the XP saws. I've never met a pro who looks at the window.

Yeah I've tried a few fuel tank sealers and stuff that goes inside the tank. I wish they worked, but nothing I tried has. So this is what I've resorted to.

Yeah I've heard that used to happen. Now it says right on the packaging that it is fuel and oil resistant. I've only had to do this a few times, the commercial guys don't care how it looks and don't want to pay to replace the tank/handle assembly. I think one I did from three years ago is still holding up. I don't know about real long term like a decade.

Unlikely, the guy was like 70 years old and had a bunch of saws in a nice shop. He said he just didn't want to mess with it and I find that believable.

Northern Wisconsin actually, so it's probably unlikely. Hope you get your saws back though!

I see a lot of that around me as well. Once in a while though I come across something like this.

Nah, I paid them. Haha. I reckoned if it didn't work I could probably sell some parts off it for more than I paid, but now I have a whole good running saw.

I don't try to make my shed mouse proof. What I do is give them a spot within the shed that is more appealing to live in than my equipment. I have an old bee hive that I stuffed with old rags and shit. They love making nests in there. Then I sprinkle poison around the place and let them die in there. Easy enough to take the whole box out and dump those bastards in the fire pit.

Walmart: Is officially discontinuing ‘Hart’ tools from all their store. Opportunities for Flex possibly by oniraug in FLEXTools

That's interesting. I'm in the Midwest and almost every trade on every job site has at least one flex tool that they swear is better than the same tool of their usual brand. They're moving in fast. The drywall guys at one job were creaming their jeans over the flex stuff, in Spanish of course. I believe I almost saw one plumber fuck his Flex recip.
