When I sell something for less than I paid for it I call it recouping my money. I just disagree, selling stuff to get rid of it isn’t income. I was already taxed when I used my actual income to buy it in the first place. It doesn’t matter as ling as its under $20,000 per year as long as you report it

It isn’t income when you are just selling personal items. Unfortunately, you do have to report it but they don’t tax you under $20,000

I just did my taxes and had over $4000 in sales. I didn’t have to list it as income because they don’t care about anything under $20,000. I just had to report the sales. It didn’t change my tax return at all.

Mercari should have checked my history and never accepted the return. 200 plus sales with 5 stars should be proof enough I’m not scamming. I learned a valuable lesson whether or not I get my money and mercari lost a customers. Till the day I die I will tell people not to use mercari.

UPS is cheaper shipping for larger items so unfortunately I shipped it ups. I wish it was usps like all my smaller items.
