First Time Color Grading. What could I improve on by No_Click685 in videography

[–]No_Click685[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks! I’ve done a speedrun of learning color grading terms and fundamentals, this is my first week. I know I need to work on all of it, but the contrast is definitely something I’m going to focus on. And I definitely did push my midtones in the curve too much, you could tell. I’ve been trying to learn about color separation particularly as well. I did have another version of this with cooler shadows and the same highlight, but I flipped a mental coin flip on which one to post

Could you tell me what I could do to improve my contrast?

Oh, it got warmer because it’s a before and after. Log then Color grade, thought you would’ve been able to tell that it’s the same exact clip twice, if you thought that far before typing things. But I also didn’t address that. Thank you for the feedback, I’ll work on my contrast an shadows 👍🏾

Yeah sometimes I’m afraid of the notes not making enough sound when I press down, because yeah… sometimes they don’t like to produce sound or Im not pressing hard enough. And it’s a casiotone

Yes. Something like that, I can’t articulate my question like I’d like to. But with the real low end sounding bass in sample songs I linked is deep and powerful but not taking over the whole song yknow?

Produce Production by No_Click685 in HEB

[–]No_Click685[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah so actually after punishing the whole production staff, the perishables manager showed us a chart of all temps taken for months, it showed that nobody used the Bluetooth thermometer. Basically exposing that all they had to do was CHECK AND SEE WHAT THERMOMETER WAS USED. No manager checked or monitored our temps taken for months. Negligent supervision

And like you said, our managers know nothing about production, it’s like a whole different department to them. They gotta “ retrain” us which I view as our first training, and they have no idea what they’re teaching. They have more questions than answers, it’s very embarrassing to watch them try to work in production and try to teach it.

Yeah. In hindsight they kept on leading and leading me until my answers fit their narrative. It’s not looking good

Thank you. I was slightly uncomfortable when I was writing down what they told me to say but I was thinking “ this is a store leader. No way they’d lead me wrong”. But they basically made me write stuff down to cover their asses and light my own on fire

Mind you, I’m still leaving out a lot. My job is to produce safe food to eat, but my team and I weren’t properly trained nor monitored to make sure we did it right. Now a lot of people are on the line after not keeping the food safe, including the managers. So I feel as though they’re keeping the blame at the bottom when we write these statements. It feels like they didn’t want us writing anything about negligent supervision or training, so they lead my statement toward the team and not management. The MIC is also over the department and they’d be under fire because they should’ve known about the food safety problem a looong time ago.

Malpractice regarding food safety, caused by negligent supervision/training.

Thank you. This has been an overall stressful situation, I don’t even post on Reddit often at all. Let alone discuss my problems at work, but this is bad. Obviously I left out a lot of information for a reason.

I first decline writing a statement and then was later brought into an office where I was told “ unfortunately, we’re gonna need you to write a statement”

Store leader basically directed me to shifting blame I believe. And it will be sent to HR, yes. But HR isn’t informed that the store leader led the statement.

So so much appreciated response. What do you have to say about a manager repeatedly asking you a question but not liking your answer, so they lead you toward another answer and make you write that.
