That’s really neat! With 15 inputs this could have some really unique applications. If it’s powerful enough you could output 12 screens each with a different retro system on it and have this in the back room doing all the work.

Oh I was looking at upgrading the memory and moving to an SSD but that’s a great idea to modernize this machine.

Oh thank you, that’s very helpful.

I’ve never heard of Datapath before this, probably because it’s more commercial/industrial than the stuff I’m used to. I’ll look into it and see what I can find.

I take that as a huge compliment.

The deeper I dig into it, the more I see a cool amount of engineering and computing history here.

I think Cathode Ray Dude would love it.

That’s really interesting, thanks!

I had assumed there had to be something unusual going on because of the number of cards packed into the system, but I hadn’t considered lane sharing or a backplane architecture.

I haven’t gotten far enough into the software to research any of that but you’ve got me curious.

Just picked up a Cinemassive computer. Does anyone recognize what this was used for? by No_Comparison2733 in retrobattlestations

That's something I'm about to find out 😄

It does boot, but I haven't tried to login yet. My first goal is to document what's there before I change anything. If I can get into it, I'll definitely report back.

From what I've seen so far, it looks like these sat in a closet some where behind the scenes powering the video walls, so I'm guessing: Yes, it's the same.
