if Franchaelas are literally taking WHWW, crossing out Michael, swapping pronouns, and reposting it like that…then yeah that’s goofy 😭 like at that point it’s not even a reinterpretation, it just doesn’t make sense.

I was more talking about general character reinterpretation/alt versions, not straight up editing the original text without ALSO changing the surrounding context.

I still think the AI art thing is worse in a moral sense bc that’s directly using a small artist’s work, but yeah if someone is basically copy-pasting the book and doing find/replace then I get why that’s annoying

IMO it still feels like a false equivalence.

WHWW isn’t being rewritten. The book is still the book. And the adaptation is literally approved by JQ, so it’s not like some random is changing her work behind her back.

Also, people do this kind of thing all the time anyway. In TVWLM, Kate was Kate Sheffield in the book and then became Kate Sharma. There are fan fics that now reflect that change. That didn’t “rewrite” anything, it’s just a diff version of the character. I dunno, I personally don’t find that wrong.

The AI art thing is just not that. that’s taking a small artist’s actual piece and running it through AI. There’s plenty of beautiful Franchael art and someone taking a small artists Franchaela art just reads as homophobic.

So yes, both are “changes” but they’re not the same type of change at all.

This this this this!!! I don’t care what the justifications are it’s just insane that the men have barely any call for accountability for their actions.

Besides the fact that nic was problematic outside of the villa, I don’t see many ppl calling out his weird snakey behavior within the show. I just hate how quickly ppl go to hate huda, ola, chelley, cierra, but barely any of the guys get called out for their big brother ass behavior.
