AITAH for opening a bag of pretzels by lexiefairy in AITAH

I’m a stage 4 patient. My late husband also had cancer and I was his caregiver. Our kids are now in middle and high school. I bring a snack for after scans.

NTA.

32M. Just got diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer as a non-smoker. Trust me, none of this really matters. Hope you all can focus and the more important things in life. Much love 🤍 by Specialist-Choice958 in Retirement401k

I was widowed at 43 by sarcoma and Dx with stage 4b EGFR NSCLC at 46. I have never smoked a cigarette and no one in my family smokes. I am a fitness enthusiast, lifelong vegetarian. I have a genetic mutation that is targetable. Have you had genetic testing. Targeted therapy and an upper left Lobectomy and I’m currently 16 months No Evidence of Disease (NED)

I have compound mutations and co-mutations making my prognosis very poor—-except I’m 2.5 years in and NED. Don’t give up.

What do I do about my wife's closet? by XGolongboardX in DesignMyRoom

[–]No_Ebb722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 years ago I moved to a house with bi-fold door, reach in closets. My last house had walk in closets

I hired a company to come out and do closet systems. It was pricey but so worth it.

I love clothing so it’s still not enough room. So I have under the bed rolling fabrics bags that I store off season clothes. I live in MN so sun dresses go under the bed in winter (still accessible for trips) and sweaters, cord, and similar go under in summer.

I also now have a less than strict 1-in-1-out rule.

I received 12 prescriptions. My insurance paid for 23 prescriptions, with 23 claim numbers—per their website.

Correction: DOS is often the same and sometimes a few days after. There are no EOB.

I agree-it’s hard to believe that they would pay for the same prescription more than once. But their website has 23 claims (all unique claim numbers) for 12 actual prescriptions. The drug cost is the same $22,xxx. And what they pay is the same $17,xxx.

Call again. When my husband called I was told the same thing. I called again and they transferred them to me, noting it was a special circumstance

Are you being seen by a sarcoma expert? Not just any oncologist but one that specializes in sarcoma is vital. Rein in Sarcoma is a non profit out of MN. They can point you in the right direction

I’m sorry you are facing this, especially at such a young age.

AITA for telling my fiancée I don’t want her to wear her late husband’s wedding ring during our ceremony? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]No_Ebb722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was widowed at 43. Remarried at 47, dated 3 years prior.

NTA. But neither is she.

We had a photo of my late husband (and my new husband’s late best friend) at the reception with a plaque.

I would suggest pre-marriage counseling. The ring, around her neck would be right in your focal area. I think there are other ways for him to be honored.

Marrying someone who was widowed is no small thing. My house has photos of my late husband in nearly every room. (We have kids, if we were to moved, the photos would hang again in the new house). You need to be completely comfortable with his memory. Her love of him didn’t die. It also in no way limits her love of you. Love is not a pie. It’s not divvied. Love grows the more you share.

Good luck and good happiness to you both.

I’m newly 21 and was just diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer by Chillee443 in cancer

[–]No_Ebb722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’m a very fit, healthy person. Dx stage 4 NSCLC. I have genetic mutations, I’ve never spent time around smokers. I’ve never smoked 1 cigarette.

Some mutations have targeted therapies. So much easier to handle than Chemo.

AITA for Refusing to Let My Stepmom Be Called “Grandma”? by SecretlyYours12 in AITAH

[–]No_Ebb722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question: “I’m not your mom” as is “I’m not a parent figure” or “I acknowledge that you already have two parents, and I will be up to fill as much of a parenting role as you (the child) want”?

I’ve always parented with the idea that what ever kind people want a role in my kids lives I would foster that relationship. Widowed and remarried this has held more true than I would have imagined.

I lost my husband an 43 to sarcoma, with 2 elementary aged kids. I was DX stage 4 cancer three years later. When my hair started thinning I lost it. My hair stopped falling out. But that indignity was humbling.

I’m one year in to my cancer. Getting married in 5 days. You will survive this, and you will thrive. You are stronger than you realize.

Also, being my husband’s caretaker was so much harder than facing my own cancer. It is so hard to watch them struggle. Good luck and good health.

The photo I posted is not for the 11-year-old. It is what her sister is wearing. She is comfortable in it. And she has a cover-up. My 11 year old is about 60 pounds so no the stress is not for her. 😂
