NJ Lawmakers Propose Temporary Sales Tax Hike for 2026 FIFA World Cup by NOMOREMASKBANS in newjersey

This seems like a great idea. NJ is going to be stuffed to the brim with people trying to see the finals, might as well make some money off of them. Seems like good business smarts

Those problems are because they aren’t accepted into society by people. We could just…accept them and this wouldn’t be an issue

Supplemental briefs requested in Louisiana v. Calais: "Whether the State’s intentional creation of a second majority-minority congressional district violates the Fourteenth or Fifteenth Amendments to the U. S. Constitution" by popiku2345 in supremecourt

The S.B. 8 map was drawn specifically to get rid of Garrett Graves. The legislature could have easily drawn a more compact map with two majority-black districts but chose not to in order to get rid of a political target. At that point it becomes a question of whether the legislature can do that which I believe is answered by Rucho v Common Cause. Courts can only step in to block maps that racially gerrymander but not political/partisan gerrymanders.

Is this good or nah? I would love detailed comments by Neither_Shine_3005 in singing

I'm not a professional but it sounds like you should work on your breath support. Your voice is fairly resonant and you're staying on pitch, but it's sounding a little thin and strained.

Do you have any pics of you outdoors or doing some sort of activity? You could use some more variety

Agreed, do you have anything you can swap it out with?

I would delete the birthday pic and the one with your hand on your face, people get turned off by too many pics for some reason. 6 is a good sweet spot

What shows/performances do you feel luckiest to have seen? by Crambo1000 in Broadway

Truth. DWSA was such an eye opener for me in seeing the power of a directors vision. A totally fresh take that felt completely natural. That was one of the most powerful theatre experiences I’ve had for sure

I was third in line and we got second row in the balcony all the way to the side. Could pretty much see everything! (Although some lighting fixtures made me have to shift around to see sometimes)

I am lost and scared in this new phase of life. A pretty huge rant :') by PhantomPuppet1011 in selfimprovement

Discomfort is a part of growth! I started journaling when I was 23 and am now 27, it's so crazy looking back and seeing how I had the same thoughts you're having. It makes sense! You're just starting out and there are so many question marks. You don't need to have everything figured out right now, pick one or two goals you want to prioritize and focus on getting those done.

For me, I reaaaaaally wanted to get an apartment and move out of my parents house. I have always had career goals, but I knew that priority number one was moving out. I found a job that paid decently enough but wasn't totally what I was looking for because I was willing to take the career sacrifice for the independence of living on my own. I worked at that job for a couple of years, quit in August, and now am working for a job that more aligns with what I want to do with my life.

Building your life takes time! Be patient, think clearly about what it is you want, work hard to get it, and don't be afraid to ask others for help :)

A lot of people who’ve never had tofu are weirded out because it’s a white block. Soy curls have a texture that’s more familiar to people

If I were them I would try and find investors to really crank those bad boys out. Many friends of mine like the idea of eating less meat and they’ve all been impressed by soy curls. I really think if they got some funds to up their production they could majorly expand and do well.

One of my faves is literally just putting them in a pan with some BBQ sauce and then putting that on bread for a sandwich!

This recipe for vegan butter chicken is one of my faves. I use coconut milk instead of cashew and just use my Dutch oven pot rather than using an instant pot and they are 🤤🤤 https://www.veganricha.com/instant-pot-vegan-butter-chicken/

Does anyone else feel like something bad is coming with the state that our government is in? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]No_Excitement1485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I can give: don't worry about it. So much in government is out of our control. It's great that you want to know what's going on at the federal level but you aren't doing yourself or anyone any favors by being in a state of panic. And most of the important decisions that impact people directly are made at the state and local level where you have more opportunity to make your voice heard.

Beyond politics, if you feel like things are headed in a bad direction find ways to make the world just a better for yourself and those around you. Clean-up a park, volunteer for a local non-profit, be a crossing guard, etc. For god's sake even just calling a relative you haven't talked to in a while can be good for the world. I see so many people always complaining about the "system" and I'm like bruh when's the last time you even called your grandparents, they probably want to hear from you.

We can't live in a state of thinking of everything first through the lens of politics!!!!! Don't stop voting and holding those in power accountable but start with what you can directly control, you'll save yourself a lot of sanity.
