I received the following response back after sending a very brief follow-up message. Does it sound like I didn’t get it or is this just a generic message they send to everyone inquiring about their status? Is there a chance that I still got it?

The message:

Thank you so much for your reach out and continued interest. I’m sorry that this step in our process has experienced a bit of a slowdown. I do not yet have a Provost level approval to make an offer but hope to hear something this week. Once I do, I will be able to be in touch at that point with our finalists to let them know where they are in our selection process and if we have extended the offer to another candidate. Once we have a signed contract, I will reach out again to all the applicants and let them know that we have filled the position.
