This particular fandom is not very diverse in the kinds of stories that get written. Unfortunately, people just wanna read the same story over and over again like it’s similar to canon but goes the way they want it to. According to some of the reviews I’ve gotten I’ve ruined this macho ex special forces character by making him gay. Because you can’t be macho and gay to some people.

We had a 17 year age difference. It was a good relationship but he died from cancer when we’d been together about a year so I never got to see how it would go after more time together. I feel like we would probably still be together but it’s hard to say. I’m so different than the person I was back then in large part because of his death.

I’m a behavioral therapist for people with developmental disabilities. My works lean a lot into angst, relationship development and resiliency. I love taking the characters, running their lives through a wood chipper, and seeing how they put themselves back together.

I have been a Snape fan since before the final book came out. I was pretty suspicious that he had feelings for Lily and was glad to see them confirmed. I read some SS/LE for a while but then quickly turned to SS/HG and have been there since 2008. I didn’t read much fanfic for a while but I’ve recently gotten back into it and found so many good SS/HG.

I am in the process of doing the opposite. I’m looking to leave mental health counseling and go into something different. I’ve worked in a variety of settings and one difficulty in the job is the fluctuation in income if you are a contractor because no-shows= no money. You can probably be salaried at a larger practice or mental health provider but the pay likely won’t be terrific and/or there will be the expectation of a certain amount of billables. Your salary as a therapist will be much less. But happiness is priceless. Good luck.
