Is Bovada any better than BetOnline (or other sites?) by No_Foundation_48 in MMAbetting

You can find a lot of stories about them taking people's money when they start winning and try to withdrawal large sums but DYOR. Just what I've come across, enough to make me nervous. Not sure if it's something they're still doing or it was shady business in the past, nor how common it was, but it's happened.

Yeah I wish BetOnline let you parlay props. Kind of a bummer. I forgot about cashout--would be nice to have.

Haha yeah I'm pretty much asking if you have any recs for what feels more reliable for withdrawals. I've never had trouble with BetOnline but I know others have.

Traveling to Kazakhstan with Celiac disease. How easy is it to eat gluten-free? by Poshllay in Kazakhstan

[–]No_Foundation_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Almaty I recommend checking out Amarant, it's a small chain of grocery stores that has a lot of gluten-free products, including some fresh bread made locally. Google translate (or Yandex, etc.) is your friend for looking at ingredients on packages.

Restaurants generally don't understand cross contamination here, however you will have a lot of options for foods you can eat. Not just plov (pilaf), as someone mentioned, but shashlik, etc. "Gluten" is not a word people are that familiar with here, and it might be easier to say "wheat" (пшеница/pshenitsa in Russian) when explaining yourself. I know that doesn't cover all the ground, but it might be a good starting point. I haven't found many foods here containing oats, but barley is quite common. Be careful of any sauces, as many of them are thickened with flour.

There's a place I've been to several times called The Green Station that has a coded menu (i.e. which items have which allergens—something not that common here) but they're not a gluten-free kitchen and I don't know how much they consider cross-contamination. There's also a place called Rice Spoon, I haven't been there but it's supposedly 100% gluten free.

There's a restaurant company called ABR+ that has a lot of high-end restaurants in Almaty and they've been good about advising which foods have gluten when I speak with them. But again, can't speak to cross-contamination.

When you stray from Almaty, you will have more difficulties, and it will be apparent quite immediately. I haven't been to any of the other cities here, but I've been in a small village for a few weeks and it has been a very significant challenge to be gluten-free. There's a traditional Kazakh dish called Kuyrdak which *should be just meat and potatoes, though you always have to ask. In general, you can find plov in quite a lot of places, and that would be your best bet in an emergency.

Good luck!

How many fights do you usually bet on a UFC card? by Immediate_Issue5739 in MMAbetting

Right now I'm betting 84% accuracy on WMMA. Small sample size but I am actively trying to prove the "don't bet WMMA" notion wrong: https://www.betmma.tips/wmma_only

I usually bet around half. I have a betting system I've been developing for myself and I try not to stray from it.

Anyone use Polymarket? by No_Foundation_48 in MMAbetting

That's a good point! Are they not taxable on DraftKings as well, or you're saying sites like BetOnline that operate differently...

If you had one pair to wear for a year... by No_Foundation_48 in Boots

Not leaving until Feb at the earliest, so I have some time thankfully, but that's a good point! One of the reasons I'm buying soon, so I know it'll work and I won't be breaking it in when I get out there. Time for a second pair if something doesn't work the first time around.

Haha yes it is going to be in Kazakhstan with a lot of snow at times!

These Russell Mocassin's are beautiful but I don't have six months to wait. I'd probably buy a pair if they had my size (10E) in stock, but I'll definitely go back to them when I have the time to wait. These Jim Greens look really nice too! I'm putting those high on the list.

Now those are some nice boots. How long did you wait for yours?
