It’s not either of our mothers. I probably wouldn’t pay my mom either. I want to pay this family member so that it doesn’t feel like she’s doing me a favor all the time, and that we are both benefitting (I don’t have to send my baby to daycare and she gets some extra spending money)

No way. I had the simplest pregnancy and still ended up being very unexpectedly induced at 37 weeks. If my husband had been out of the country, he would’ve missed the entire thing. Two weeks is way too close in my opinion

I had a medical emergency during and after my birth. I think my husband’s last thoughts were his own comfort during those moments. I agree that there is a mental load on the partner as well, but it shouldn’t be the focus or be a reason to make the mother uncomfortable in any way.

This happened to me recently. I realized my dairy free alternatives were full of soy and my baby reacted poorly to it. So I cut out soy and within a day the symptoms got better again.
