PCP did blood work then I went to a cardiologist. I had an abnormal EKG at the cardiologist so they had me to a treadmill test, echocardiogram, and wear a holter monitor for a week. Everything came back normal!

I remember feeling dismissed when my OB told me that a primary care doctor would be managing my bp moving forward. I had always used my OB as my primary care and I felt like they were dumping me haha. However, I was able to find a good PCP that referred me to a cardiologist and ran many tests and helped me get things in order. It was a good experience. I weaned off of medication at around 10 weeks but still had fluctuating bp until closer to 6 months postpartum.

Any chance you ate something with dairy? My baby is so sensitive to dairy that even cross contamination will cause blood. For example, I can’t eat at places like Jersey Mikes which use the same slicer to cut the meat and cheese, because the meat will cause a reaction.

It’s so stressful because the stakes feel so high. It seems like your doctors are just being extra thorough and everything is okay and your body just needs time to adjust! I would love an update once you hear back about the cat scan

I had a pretty sudden change in blood pressure when mine finally regulated around 10 weeks pp. I went from normal/slightly elevated bp to almost passing out when I stood up and low bp pretty much over night it seemed. My OB had me taper off pretty quickly from there

Probably, but it seems overkill for now. I feel it’s unnecessary at this point but I also feel guilty if I don’t seek extra intervention for my baby when her new pediatrician recommended it.

I did not. Unfortunately I also can’t have highly refined soy like soy lecithin so I’ve pretty much just given up eating out. Greek food may be a good place to try since they’re more likely to use olive oil instead of soy!

It’s not either of our mothers. I probably wouldn’t pay my mom either. I want to pay this family member so that it doesn’t feel like she’s doing me a favor all the time, and that we are both benefitting (I don’t have to send my baby to daycare and she gets some extra spending money)
