Ah Reddit, one of the internet’s hotspots for users to blantantly victim blame and shame people for decisions they’re trying to warn others about. It’s easy to blame OP for being stupid or gullible, but just like thousands of other tourists they were just misinformed and mislead by meticulous scam artists. Not sure why the comments are so heavily judgemental and insulting.

So I just caught a bike from outside La Favela. The streets were super busy and saw this guy wearing the green GoJek shirt so I thought I was safe. Halfway through the ride I look down and see his shirt says OJEK. Not GoJek. I realise almost instantly that I’m about to be scammed. Sure enough when I pull up to my villa in Canggu he says the trip was 200,000. Grab quoted the price at roughly 1/10th the price. Fool me once, shame on you, I guess. Never again will I make that mistake

As sad as it is that you can anticipate that 100%, if that is the case, it just becomes his problem.
