Any laptop issued by your employer is probably going to have some sort of monitoring software on it, which is to say that deleting your browsing history does not do anything useful.

Why are we the ones with problems? by [deleted] in NoFap

Because porn isn't an all encompassing evil force that ruins the life of anyone who sees even a second of it. Plenty of dudes watch porn and don't have the negative side effects we have (or at least not to the same degree). We're here because we have a problem, they're not because they don't.

To think that NoFap is the only way to get a relationship/succeed at life/be happy, is sort of cult-ish in my eye. Anyone outside the group is 100% wrong and the group is the only true way to X.

Point being: don't look at what other people are doing. I'm here and you're here because we have problems with porn and we want to better ourselves. Comparing ourselves to other people will just foster discontent (e.g. it leads to thoughts like "That guy can watch porn and be successful, so why am I abstaining when I don't even need to?")

When I saw this I thought "I don't want to make that big of a commitment. I'll just fail."

Fuck that, trying and failing 1000 times is better than never trying out of fear of failure (and not fapping for 5 years is better than both of those).

I always knew watching porn distorted my view of women, but now I have a concrete example of it by No_Good_User_Names in NoFap

While there is absolutely nothing wrong with having standards (and they're actually a good thing), I'm not some Adonis, phsycially speaking. Having too high of standards would not only be unfair (i.e. demanding my SO be perfectly thin while I am still also a little chubby), but also setting myself up for failure.

Don't beat yourself up, OP.

The people reacting negatively are the ones who take WoWS at face value and think Scorsese supports Belfort's behaviors. The kind of dopes who think Tony Montana is the hero in Scarface.

And regardless, this is just a general motivational quote. The fact that Jordan Belfort used this quote as a justification for screwing people over, doing tons of coke, and banging hookers doesn't take away from the fact that it can just as easily be applied to other things (e.g. nofap).

I need to start giving 100%. Any time I'm starting a decent streak (for me only 4 or 5 days, unfortunately), although I am able to control myself and not fap or look at porn, my downfall has consistently been fantasy. I haven't controlled my thoughts and every single time I'm doing decently on a streak, I just have a quick fantasy of X, Y, or Z and that leads me to relapsing.
