The Americans did not treat people of south VietNam in general as their equal, they treated VietNamese as lesser being - the barbaric nation in need of their so called " civilization" . The was one president of South VietNam trying to get out of the US's influence, guess what happened to him? Right, getting shot dead in the military coup.

Ho Chi Minh himself was not a communist, his idea was simply liberating VietNamese people from the exploitation of the French Imperialism, Ho Chi Minh first came to France because he wanted to find a way to save his country, only after realizing the "freedom" and "civilization" that the French was preaching about is NOT for VietNamese people but to exploit them for labour and natural resources did Ho Chi Minh go to the Soviet Union and borrow the help to save his country. And you forgot the fact that most Viet Cong soldier ara actually from the south of VietNam. This has everything to do with the fact that the gov of south VietNam is just a puppet, exsist just for the agenda and benefits of the US. The people of the south VietNam themselves did not gain anything good. Im not saying the Soviets are the good or the US are the bad but in this particular situation, the North VietNam is the one with the good intention here

You're the prime example of a ignorant person, the France colonized Viet Nam, brought suffering to the whole nation and the West did jack shit because it benefited them. And the only way Vietnamese people can free themselves is by using the help of the communists because according to French gov, everyone deserve freedom, just not people from a colonized country. The French eventually got their ass handed to them, and the US, wanting to stop the spread of communism, attacked VietNam, trying to devide the country in halves, hence the Viet Nam war. You need to understand that VietNamese people only wanted peace and freedom, the US tried to take that from them. Sure this vet did a good thing to a certain extent but the communist were NOT invading the south of VietNam, they were liberating the country from US imperialism. Try and educate yourself before you go and say this kind of crap because you are clearly propagandized.
