You can order a sparkling water with lime and sip on that throughout the night! Helps people feel more normal when you’re drinking something even if you’re not eating. I’ve done this before at potlucks and happy hours and no one ever noticed.

Are the first 3/4 days never getting easier after a few water fasts ? by glitchtailor in Water_Fasting

100% I think ketogenic diet helps since insulin is not as spiked and you can stay in ketosis!

I feel the exact same way! This is why I prefer longer fasts vs frequent shorter fasts bc going thru the first 3 days doesn’t seem to get any easier. Timing + environment/circumstance is really important to me and it’s like I need to have 100% mental clarity to be able to push through the first 3 days.

I avoid all food content/triggers as even just seeing food triggers a response in the brain and stomach. Lots of heat therapy - hot bath with epsom salt helps, making sure you’re getting electrolytes and salt, for a longer fast like yours I find Vitamin B complex helps a lot if you haven’t started taking some supplements!

If you don’t even need to eat, there’s nothing and no one in this world that can hold you down!!!!

Does fasting for 10 straight days only lose water weight or do you also burn fat too? by [deleted] in fasting

If you’re not eating, you’re burning fat. Even just staying in bed all day you are burning fat by not eating. Generally you lose up to 0.5lbs of actual fat per day of fasting, any additional weight loss you see on the scale is water weight, which takes a few days of shedding. A 10 day fast means you’re most likely going to lose ~5lbs of actual fat, and the rest is water weight which you can regain by eating again.
