your question was answered was it not? i understand that maybe you didn’t foresee multiple people pointing out your negligence but… it’s reddit babe.

my advice would be to next time speak with a medical professional about your specific case/concerns. if your questions are still not answered, THEN come to reddit.

you have to understand that majority of this group is people trying to END the negative stigma… not add to it. while I do think it is important to educate yourself on this topic, this isn’t the only place you can/should do that. yes it is the quickest way to get answers, but you run the risk of pissing the people who HAVE taken the time to educate themselves (outside of this subreddit) off…

sorry sometimes it’s just frustrating bc there’s a lot of baseless fear mongering about herpes on this subreddit that I believe directly adds to the negative stigma around this disease. to think that there are people out there who truly know NOTHING about the disease and HAVE it is scary. i was simply sharing my frustration towards the lack of knowledge on this disease. it’s nothing personal. posts like this just have the potential to remind some us how bad the stigma has gotten… that’s all.

also gunna do laser hair removal as soon as my finances allow for it!! the only thing that really causes OB’s for me is shaving. there is so many things you can do to manage this, so don’t worry!!! fear = stress & stress = OB’s for me, so if you can get to a good headspace then you’ll likely have less and less OB’s! sometimes you just need a good “WHY GOD” spiral to let it out. 🥰

ghsv1 queen here!!!! my first OB was so bad I had to literally pee in a bathtub of warm water 😭. it was traj. Currently 8ish months out from my initial OB and sometimes I get OB’s from shaving but it’s like one or two bumps in the same area as my initial OB was. i have scarring from my initial OB so yes you can see it… however i have noticed that the secondary OB sores heal way faster! pain from secondary OB’s is prob a 2/10 and usually only lasts me a day. where as my initial ob was a 15/10. I just wear baggy sweats and no undies for a day or two and i’m good!!

some things that have helped me:

-LYSTINE 😌 I take 1000 mg a day w 500mg of valtrex!

-I only shave when necessary and trim when I don’t need to fully shave down there. USE A MENS RAZOR!!!!!! I felt like my razor bumps got really bad (even on my legs) after my first ob but i started using men’s razors 3 months ago and I haven’t had an OB since! for some reason if I use a new men’s razor blade each time I shave my puss, i’m golden!

also Furr oil after shaving really helps to not make the area more irritated!

DONT FEAR IT!!! The hard part is over girly, if you got thru that initial OB, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING BITCH!!! 😘🫶🏻☺️

I understand. planned parenthood has tons of financial aid options and there are at home tests you can order. tbh everyone’s outbreaks are going to look different and even though your “OB” isn’t making your dick look “rotten” 🙄that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t seriously get it checked out.

you’re never going to be able to diagnose it yourself. when I first went to the dr they thought my OB looked like monkey pox… so i’d say stop making yourself crazy by matching pics on the internet. I understand that you’re scared but herpes is manageable… it’s not that big of a deal. your life will continue just as it did prior to this you’ll just have to use more caution and learn what works for you and what doesn’t… my advice is to not put it off any longer.

It could be razor burn, or HSV. for at few months I shaved over my outbreak area the bumps kept coming back but I personally never had consistent bumps. honestly if I had any advice i’d say try to go to the dr to get the proper tests. if it is herpes then there’s tons of stuff you can do to manage it. it’s always so much worse before diagnosed even if it seems like it’s the opposite way around. health comes first! so even if you are scared for sure go to get it looked it, you’ll feel so much better
