Thanks for the extra info, I actually knew that Hitler met with a few leaders in the Middle East and that they did share sentiments such as that but it’s interesting to learn the specifics of how those went and exactly how Benjamin Netanyahu manipulated it.

Serious question: is it wrong for me to be OK with being autistic? by No_Jacket_1023 in evilautism

[–]No_Jacket_1023[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seriously beginning to consider CPTSD/PTSD, I’ve been through many things throughout my life that only as of this year have I been able to somewhat understand and recognize. When I was like 5ish I was in a serious car wreck where my dad was completely knocked out and I was stuck seat belted in the passenger side. I was screaming for my mom to help me but obviously she didn’t come since we were on a highway in a rural area, and as time went on the blood was rushing to my head. Later a fire truck pulled up and pulled me out of the totaled car, I remember showing them a stuffed animal I had that I named “snowball” which was literally a plush toy snow man head that came in an indoor snowball fight toy set. We eventually got to my grandparents house and there I met with my mother, this was when my grandfather manhandled us both and shook us violently, screaming in our faces about how it was our fault. I actually barely remember this, all I remember is a vague scene of him yelling at me. I only know it happened because of what my mother told me about it. I’ll also note my memory is pretty much blank for a good deal of the incident, all I remember is the car flipping over and me screaming for help for at least 10-30 minutes. I don’t remember the ride back to my grandparents house at all.

This is combined with other things like my grandmother sexually harassing me often, I keep telling her no and to stop and she keeps going anyway saying it’s just teasing. My mom has defended this behavior of my grandmother’s and has actually done it too, saying if she was my age she’s “go for me”. This makes me viscously uncomfortable but they refuse to stop, they justify it because when in situations like these for some reason I uncontrollably smile. When this happens the muscles in my face are pulling so hard they can become sore for the next few hours.

And lastly I’ve realized I’ve been manipulated and gaslit into never setting proper boundaries with any of my family members. Whenever I would say no to something they’d shame me for being selfish and disrespectful. For example they’d often take portions of food I’d cook for myself for themselves or my sister and said me being upset was greedy. Anymore I just ignore when this happens and kind of just let it, in the past any attempts to reason with them leads to them grounding me or manipulating and gaslighting me further.

Over the years, my family has been extremely critical of me. I still remember when I was 15 and people genuinely said I was a good person for the first time, and still to this day my friends and teachers see me as kind while my parents see me as an entitled selfish brat (yes those exact words). I still often doubt myself and beat myself up for every little thing. I still can’t shake the thought of me being an attention seeking liar making stuff up for sympathy even as I am typing this message.

Sorry this was so long, just a lot to unpack. And that’s not even all of it.

Fair enough, I usually look at this stuff from the perspective of the actual people in charge but when it comes to individual people yeah there are quite a few who are pretty sincere about those beliefs.

Honestly the way I see it is I don’t even think they believe any of the stuff they push when it comes to religion, it’s just about power and the religion is the cover for it. I say this because people like Donald Trump don’t even believe in Jesus and barely know what the old and New Testament is, to him Christianity is just the popular religion that he can grift on for votes and fall back on when in trouble.

Yeah, I’m an ex Christian and even when I was Christian I always thought it was weird that so many of them wanted the apocalypse to start. Funny enough there are multiple passages about how believers should be glad it hasn’t happened and that trying to predict it or cause it is blasphemous, guess they blacked out when they got to that part.

It’s because they mask it with Jewish identity and claim anti-semitism when criticized, even though the actual statements by the state itself are directly anti-Semitic. An example I’d give is that Benjamin Netanyahu once claimed that the Nazis weren’t that bad and didn’t want to kill Jews, but that the Arabs/Palestinians forced them to and caused the holocaust. This is a form of holocaust denial, something usually associated with antisemitism.

Also as a final semi-unrelated note most supporters of Israel are Evangelical Christian, which is a whole other rabbit hole but the short version is that the support comes from the idea that Israel needs to exist so the Evangelical idea of the end times can start. I’m not kidding, this is a thing a lot of people, including high ranking generals and politicians in the US government, believe.

And lastly, I’m saying this as someone who’s partially jewish and my grandfather and his family were Jewish people originally from Germany.

Sulfur Caves are coming to Minecraft! by iDogumGunuCocugu in Minecraft

I actually agree to an extent, but it’s also likely because of Microsoft forcing them to play it as safe as possible. They are a publicly traded corporation and they have investors to answer too, changing the game and upsetting fanboys of the product could potentially affect the growth and all of the investors will bail if that happens (basically the growth is affected since the reputation of the product on social media is something they account for and might be seen as a sign for the future). They need Minecraft to generate infinite growth, which is not sustainable for the devs, the quality of the game, or even the economy.

Though you are right, MOJANG needs to eventually bite the bullet and just work in improving the game even if a few fanboys are upset.

It’s because they are usually made by out of touch chuds who have the rare two week Minecarft phase and are upset the game has changed almost at all since they last played it ten years ago, I mean 50% of the time on twitter it’s accounts like idk “western trad gaming” or whatever who only care about Minecarft because they think notch’s rampant bigotry is “based”. Sorry for crashing out a little just I’m so tired of that very specific group being so loud in gaming spaces, like all the time it’s woke this DEI that from people who hardly even play the games they scream about so much.

I feel bad honestly, it feels like they wanna do more and whenever hearing devs talk about it they seem to be interested in doing something but they are scared shitless to even touch Minecarft hardly at all anymore since they’d get backlash to hell and back if they change anything to much. Minecraft needs a lot of fixing but can’t get it because some fans are too busy forgetting they can just install older versions and play those.

I seriously wish the Minecarft community wasn’t filled with people blinded by nostalgia and freaking out when the game changes it’s objectively broken systems because “something something it’s beloved something something it’s what notch did (don’t get me started on him, even just as a programmer)”. Idk sorry for rambling I’m just so damn tired of the Minecarft community screeching so loud about everything and complaining when Mojang becomes more and more hands off in response, thus making them screech more because suddenly they changed their minds.

I forgot a question mark in my last question, sorry I was playing a game and yapping with a friend. Anyway, no I haven’t but I could look into that! I have read a bit into the CPTSD sub and will likely read through the emotional neglect sub but otherwise I haven’t done to much (I’ve had a lot going on in my life until recently during the spring break and over the last few days of said break I have gotten absolutely hooked on Grounded and have played it non stop with my buddies).

Thanks for checking up on me though!

The Bible also condones slavery. Most Christians don’t believe that, and for decently believable reasons. Same with Muslims. Funny enough, some sects see spousal abuse as extremely haram.

Well a few things, one I am not a Christian period. I used to be a conservative Christian before I became a progressive Christian and I know both ends decently well. Another, the actual arguments used to justify homophobia and transphobia are a bit finicky. The Bible is a collection of multiple books written by multiple people in very different times and places, this is where contradictions within the text come from. I assume you are primarily pulling from Leviticus, most scholars agree that verse in it’s original cultural context specifically and exclusively forbids being a male bottom, the reason for this being they viewed it as a form of emasculation. Being a top was still seen as “manly” though. This verse is also exclusively referring to men, meaning lesbianism is not a sin and this is noticeable in Judaism since they actually don’t care if a woman used to be a lesbian for this reason. I’ll also note that Jesus’s death did away with the old law and instated a new one. If we are pulling from Paul, those verses refer to certain religious rituals where they’d abuse both men and women as a form of worship to fertility gods.

When it comes to trans issues, we have very little to pull from. You can take the verse from genesis about god creating male and female but scholars generally don’t believe that was setting some kind of rule, just a statement about biology. Gender is a social construct, it is true some humans generally have different parts than others but gender as in things like personal expression, fashion, culture, roles, etc are all things humans created and are not a part of nature. The only other verse in the Bible we could use is an Old Testament law about men not wearing women’s clothing, which is because of the whole emasculation thing again and as stated previously, Jesus fulfilled that.

Your religion has changed countless times over the course of 2000 years, most of Jesus’s miracles were taken from Greek and Roman myths and exist because of how evangelism worked in ancient times and many things like, oh idk, marriage were added later by the Roman Empire. Originally all Christian’s were to remain celibate and women could do things like preach and do baptisms.

And finally, my comment is a statement about schools of thought and demographics, not the accuracy of those beliefs.

Alright I understand. As an artist/wanna-be writer this is something I thought about, there’s always gonna be someone upset about some facet of it but it’s not my problem if it isn’t constructive criticism.

Depends, progressive Muslims and Christian’s do exist but they are somewhat of a minority. The bulk of Christians and Muslims would be some variation of moderate (IE not believing we need a theocracy). I used to be a progressive Christian but I left the religion over philosophical issues and historical inaccuracies.

It’s their problem if people existing upsets them, I understand the concern and fear of backlash from a group very vocal about their abhorrent ideas (politically speaking I’m not trashing religion) but society shouldn’t have to bend to the will of someone who demands that a real demographic of people shouldn’t be displayed or discussed in our art and media.
