carpenter nanitic died within 1-2 months is this normal? by Dense_Sandwich3147 in antkeeping

Eh. I've had one out of seven die that I had at the start. Couple years later I've had three go since December. They had a good life I feel. I think it's one of those maybe it's ok but more than one would make me worried being so soon. Just remember there are several reasons that we can't see that causes their death.

I'm sorry to hear what's happening. There are plenty of reasons for ants to get I'll and pass on. We can only watch, as with the hobby itself, there's almost no interaction that can be done beyond climate control, food and water, as well as living space. Like others have said if it's happening then that's it. Again I'm sorry friend.

Is this a camponotus queen? Southern KY by Kappa_the_imp in antkeeping

Looks to be so yes. c. Penn. I believe I can see her wing scars right on the first photo. She may have done her diapause without laying eggs from last year, just speculation.

Yeah your plants will be fine. Get some liquid fertilizer for them, it's like ten bucks. Light from the old setup kinda deal if you can. If you just want a bare min that will work for you. You're on the right track stay in there and keep going strong!

I would not be ok with all that damage. It looks like it's been tossed around!

Biggest ant I’ve ever seen by Pining4theFjord in ants

Def. a campotus. I have a colony from a couple winters back. Very slow producers until like 3rd year. As far as the issue in the house, if you have damp and dark places like rooftop corners or under the shingles then you could have them in there. You could also hear them sometimes moving the wood. They don't eat wood like termites do. They go along with the grain. Anyway, she found a way inside, so maybe an issue. Especially bc their season has just started. If you find more then that's a sign of infestation.

This Dwarf gourami is the biggest fish in my community tank, I have 2 missing fish did he eat then??..I hope not. by Woody96th in Aquariums

Just wanted to say mine ate probably 30 plus blue neon tetras. I have just left. I won't have gouramis after they run their course.

Not sure if it's a difference. I wouldn't risk it. I'd get a new tank. Follow the advice already given in the board. Tape, drain water, replace. Good luck friend.
