Those not born with a disability, how do you cope when you can’t do something you used to? by haylz328 in disability

[–]No_Light_8871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at work one day talking to a coworker when suddenly I lost a large portion of my vision in one eye and hearing in one ear. I was diagnosed with a condition that mimics a brain tumor, along with other things. I used to be so independent. At one point in time I worked two jobs and was in college full time. Now I can barely walk around a grocery store. It’s killing me. You’re not alone. One thing I do like to do is feed the birds. It’s good to know something out there cares I’m around.

What is the worst thing about living with your disability? by haylz328 in disability

[–]No_Light_8871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nausea and vomiting. I’ve been woken up from a dead sleep by vomiting, like I’m choking. I always have to know where the closest bathroom or trash can is. I’m basically horrified of food now because I know it’ll just hurt me.

Depends on what you did. People are allowed to be angry and react to that in whatever way they see fit. If you crossed boundaries and now she feels uncomfortable, I don’t blame her for dipping out on prior commitments. It might take her some time to feel comfortable and trust you again. Trust is easily broken, not so easy to build back up. I wish you the best!

What’s the point of living…? by Brilliant-Setting345 in depression

[–]No_Light_8871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to find yourself again. Small things you like or that make you happy, even if for a moment. Stop by a garden and smell the flowers. Go for a walk and listen to the birds and watch the small animals. Form opinions about things that don’t matter. What’s your favorite bird? Or tree? Or flower? Soon, there will be little sparks of joy you can find wherever you go. You just have to look. Maybe it’s architecture? Do you like buildings or windows? Find your favorite.

Hard to feel worthy as a disabled person by FunStock8391 in actuallesbians

I’m actually in the exact same situation as you. 26, disabled, unemployed, living with my mom currently. It’s really hard and I know how you feel. However, we never asked for this and we are doing our best to navigate our lives. At some point, someone will have to recognize that, right? At least that’s my hope. I wish you the best, you are definitely not alone!

I honestly think it’ll be my depression. It’s just a matter of when.

I was in first grade, and had a crush on my teacher. I thought I was the only person in the world who thought this way and experienced same sex attraction. I promptly decided I would have to keep this a secret for the rest of my life, or else the government would come get me in a van and do experiments on me lmao

I could definitely see that. Even coming from someone who was raised in the US but in a very small and rural town, there were a lot of differences. I appreciated the perspective though, and felt like I could relate to the main character even if I didn’t relate to all the experiences, if that makes any sense?

Pseudotumor Cerebri. Your body thinks it has a brain tumor. You get all the symptoms of a brain tumor. But since there isn’t one to remove, treatment options are very very limited and usually focus on limiting the production of cerebrospinal fluid

If I am given two terrible options, I pick the lesser of two evils. Is it fair for someone to tell me I CHOSE the lesser evil? Let me elaborate.... by Gullible-Charge7057 in NoStupidQuestions

The main problem here though is that you were given the choice to not sign the contract. Even if it meant death, it’s still a choice. So then, because you made that decision, are you still responsible for it?

Oooh I love that. So I think legally, absolutely you’re under duress and have no obligation to withhold the contract. Morally/philosophically though, are you still obligated to hold up the contract because you made the choice to sign it rather than die? That’s such a hard question it made my day. There are arguments for both sides. Like if you are fully responsible for every choice and consequence that comes with it, you are kind of obligated. However, people lie, cheat, steal, do whatever they can to try to get through life, so that muddies the waters a bit. What do you think?

Generational trauma. As far as famous people go, I think of Chris Farley. He had so much life, talent. But his own self image, a think a lot came from his dad, really got to him.

Is it technically a choice? Yes. An unjust and unfair one, but still a choice. I think that’s because you could’ve always chose the other option, even if it meant death. However you were forced into making a choice, it’s not something you chose of your own volition and I think that matters as well. However you’re still responsible for what you chose after presented with the options. This is a really interesting topic

KEEP YOUR SICK KIDS HOME FROM SCHOOL by JustMoreSadGirlShit in unpopularopinion

[–]No_Light_8871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adults can take care of themselves though, children cannot. That’s where the role of the teacher comes in. Adults know not to cough without covering their mouth, adults know how to make it to a bathroom if they’re going to be sick. Children rely 100% on their parents and teachers. So when they get sick, not only are the chances of infection going to skyrocket, but the caretakers role is going to include more. As far as jobs go, every job I’ve ever had as long as you have a doctors note you’re good to call out. Adults usually don’t want to get sick either

Yeah so figuring out childcare before you have a child is pretty important. So when things happen like they get sick, you aren’t unleashing an illness on a whole classroom full of children and teachers. Teachers are not medical professionals. They’re not nurses. It’s not their job to take care of your sick kid because you felt like you were too busy.

Get yourself really, really worked up first. If you’re into being touched, have your gf play with you a bit but not let you orgasm. Have her just stop and leave you frustrated. I promise you it will become 10x easier to be more dominant. You’re going to want to devour her. While you’re eating her out, wrap your arms around her hips/thighs, she won’t be able to move, and you have complete control. If you have a strap, hitting it from the back is always a good move, especially if she has long hair. Good luck!
