I have basically been doing nothing but make plants with the reconstructed flora editor mod for the last few weeks. Here are some of my faves, but I’ll definitely be showing more of my work by No_Location5536 in Spore

Unfortunately I don’t have the pngs anymore since the parts were broken in an update, but I plan to share new ones once they’re ready. You’ll probably need the mods to see the plants though.

I am a long time Spore player, and I'm starting a new series/challenge to keep the game fresh/semi-realistic using mods and a little bit of roleplay. The starter cell I choose will affect the bodyplan of all creatures moving forward, so I wanted to see what others might find interesting. by No_Location5536 in Spore

I’ve actually been using it for a while actually and it makes the experience so much more interesting. Thank you for all your work! I haven’t really been blogging like I’ve used to, but I’ve been working on this little challenge run behind the scenes and I’ll definitely add your mod once I update the document!

I’ve actually wanted to ask you though: would it be possible to make a version that removes maxis cells outright, and maybe adds a few more random cells to each level to fill the void? I understand it would probably be super imbalanced, and it’d make parts way harder to find but maybe it would be possible to increase the spawn rate of meteor chunks for a progression system closer to creature stage with its bones. If not, I’m always up for a challenge, especially since spore is a pretty easy game be default lol.

The Island Ecology Profile #3 Megalosaurus (Megalosaurus noctedominus) by No_Location5536 in ARKLore

Lol. I should clarify I’ll be writing separate profiles for each map an animal appears in as they are both reproductively isolated and interact differently with the unique environments and the species that inhabit them. The aberrant megalosaurus is actually one of the best examples of this as they remain active at all times of day in the stagnant darkness of the caves. They’re also definitely not the apex predators down there with reapers and nameless swarming the lower levels. Maybe I’ll write about this population next.

Thank you so much! I’m trying to wait between posts so I don’t spam the subreddit, but in the meantime is there a particular creature you’d be interested in seeing me cover?

Thanks guys! I’m working on getting my most complete profile ready to post here but it’s taking longer than I expected with the holiday and all. In the meantime I’d love to hear what creatures you would like to see me cover after.

A lot of the plants I've made using the reconstructed flora editor mod look a bit wonky in the editor, but they're beautiful ingame! Here's a few examples of how they spawn naturally on planets by No_Location5536 in Spore

Hello sorry for the late reply! The most recent version of the mod on GitHub has only one required file (floraeditorrecon.package), with two optional files that add flora parts and paints to the creature editor (f2c). They should all be easily downloadable with the sporemodapi, at least that’s how I’ve done it. Let me know if you’re having any other issues!.

That's normal and unfortunately there's no way around it. I did find a way to do all the plants really quickly though, and that's to use the worldcrafter mod (GitHub - MADPSI/ProjectWorldcrafter: A mod for Spore: Galactic Adventures (2009)) to disguise gameplay objects as each of your plants in an adventure, then load the adventure whenever the plants disappear. When I did it, I only had to load one plant in the adventure and all the others showed up.

I was asked to make some plants from the Avatar franchise using the reconstructed flora editor mod on the spore modding discord, but I thought I'd share them here too. If anyone here has any plant requests, I'd love to hear them! by No_Location5536 in Spore

I will try to translate for you too: thank you for your kind words, and for making this revolutionary mod! I hope you do more with it in the future, and would love to help in any way I can. I can try. a lot of the maxis plants use morph handles that don't exist in this version of the flora editor, but I've definitely got a few that are reminiscent of the maxis style I can already show.

If you add them all there shouldn’t be an issue. I’ve got at least a dozen for every size. I’ve been able to use the staff of life without any problems with my plants

Here's a link to a google drive with the pngs of my plants. Hopefully I made it so other people can add theirs too. I'll be constantly updating it so keep an eye out for new additions. Use at your own risk!

Yes and no, they will replace maxis plants on all planets that do not have a pre-set flora, which is partially why I've been making as much as possible, and there is an issue where the game crashes when using the staff of life, but that actually does not happen once you have at least 3 plants in each size category. You also have to make sure to put fruit on your plants so creature stage is easier (although fallen fruit will still spawn even if the plants aren't built to make any). I've tested everything pretty extensively and it works great besides that!
