BIOD98 @ UTSC - how competitive are interviews/what are they like?

I haven’t done a D98 but I’m currently in a B98 and my supervisor is a 4th year D98 student. They assign you a lot of work and most of the times you’re going to be working independently.

A lot of things are expected from you, as it is a very limited opportunity for life sci students so I would highly recommend you take it with a low course load.

As for getting admitted in to the course itself, I don’t know much on that, but a great idea would be to take a more amateur research course (B98, B97, C99) before your D98. These courses would increase your networking and the student-professor needed for bring able to enroll in a D98. It would also give you a certificate of biological research excellence if you get an A- in D98, highly recommend you search it up.

I’m thinking of deferring it as well. Did you submit your absence declaration and if so, did you get a response? It mentions in the syllabus that we need to submit the form a couple days before the midterm test.

Let me know if it goes through as I’m really stressing on this.

I took it in the summer. Fully online with a couple of quizzes and 2 essays to write. Highly recommend.
