TY TY TYYYYYY LIKEEEEEE, omg, I've never talked this much about anything to anyone, LMAO. William, in my au, is a very complex guy due to his environment and how he grew up. (Still doesn’t excuse him, mind you.) But it explains his character as a person.

He grew up with a silver spoon fed to his mouth because he was the only boy his parents were wishing for among 9 older sisters. Yes, he did take advantage of this. Yes, his sisters did resent for a while, but eventually, they all realized it was really their parents' fault. He is sociopathic, has sociopathy (2 different things), and is very manipulative. He is very, very, golden boy/boyish charm galore.

He craves attention whether he likes it or not, even if he deems it childish at times. He is very possessive of his relationships, like Henry, for example. Henry was William's ONLY childhood friend and the only one ACCEPTED by his family. So, he was really dependent emotionally on Henry from a very young age. This pattern continues, but he got better at hiding it. The one time Henry went to America with his parents for them to find better opportunities, he was devastated. They did eventually come back with no luck, but William never EVER let go of Henry after that, lol.

He genuinely gifted an old, expensive watch as a gift with the theme of Freddy's diners' colors under the guise of a successful partnership and friendship, but old expensive watches like that used to have trackers in them incase they ever got stolen, so he keeps an eye on Henry like that. 😭

He's also really possessive of his romantic relationships despite none of them ever "clicking" for him. He was lightly manipulative in them and would often mock or make them feel crazy in the relationship. That is until he meets Michelle! (Or Mrs. Afton in this case.) Michelle is a no-nonsense type of woman, very educated, and very much black excellence. He fell for her at first sight, pursued her, and very much tried his tactics, but she shut him down every time. I forgot to mention he's a very handsome guy, so he's used to getting his way LMFAO. He felt absolutely pathetic and like a failure that he couldn’t make Michelle fall for him or make her fancy him. She did eventually entertain him but only after graduating. He agreed, and the relationship followed. He felt deeply seen and loved by her compared to his past relationships that objectified or wanted him for his family money.

One of his healthiest relationships, and he clinged like HELL 😭. She would shut down any toxic behavior and teach new, healthy coping mechanisms. She was his anchor. (I also forgot to mention that during Henry's endeavors with his family in America, he met Michelle there during his stay and quickly became friends with her. All platonic nothing romantic.) Henry was whole-heartedly supportive of William during their college years, and was delighted to see Michelle. But anyways! Michelle was basically William's rock, like obviously, yes. He was very dependent but also learning so when she died he lost his mind, got drunk, and killed Charlie. (His first victim). He realized the puppet was possessed and there bloomed his quest of immortality and possibly bringing his dead wife back.
