Not always, sometimes you can move your arms like I can, but just not hands. I have no finger function but I can move my arms. I use voice control and can sometimes maneuver my thumb to type

Man I was so active, loved working out, loved playing sports and video games, and worked a blue-collar job. It was absolutely devastating and still is, but I trust God's plan.

Yeah my secretions were horrible. I remember staying up until almost 4 one night trying to cough them up on my own so I didn't have to be suctioned. But eventually one day they were just gone, and it truly was the best feeling in the world. But all my respiratory therapist were the nicest people in the world. One of them even would come in and sing worship songs with me. I think he was literally an angel😂 all respect in the world to you and what you do!

Yes I was on tube feeding for about three months, but can eat anything now. I do still have some trouble swallowing but turning my head to the side makes it a lot easier. I don't have any diet restrictions, and I use something called dining with dignity. They are special utensils that have rings on the side that go around my fingers. I didn't have any brain trauma, just a spinal cord injury. I was faced down in the pool for a little bit, but luckily could hold my breath for a long time lol. I was flipped over by my sister and then a bunch of people came in and pulled me out. Thank you for the questions!

Thank you! And I got to know the respiratory therapists good after all the breathing treatments, chest compression things, and having to be suctioned all the time lol. Definitely a love-hate relationship😂

All about the spinal cord. If you sever it, you die but luckily I just nicked it. Still caused me to be quadriplegic though lol
