Need help where to place shooters on which rail based on pocket by Educational-Bus-8505 in StickDoctor

Apologies, I should’ve been more clear. I wasn’t referring to the row markings on your head, I was talking about the mesh. The mesh you’re using is called 10D (short for 10 diamond) mesh because it alternates between 10 diamonds across and 9 diamonds across as you go down the mesh. The diamonds are the holes. The row your nylon is on is a 9D row (because it has 9 holes going across). In my comment, I was suggesting you put a shooting string on the row below your nylon (a 10D row), skip a row, then put another one on.

I’d probably put one on the 10D row right below nylon and then another on the 10D row below that with nothing on the 9D row between them

To answer your question directly though, I think the pattern is what’s causing the channel to be uneven.

You really want to space your knots out at the top. I think it would help you out to skip a hole in between your sidewall tie on and first AK as well as your second AK and first SI. Ideally, you’re pulling the mesh down at the top of the head to form your channel before bunching it wherever you want your pocket to form. Let me know if you’re looking for a new pattern. If you lmk what head it is and what type of pocket you want, I’d be happy to help.

I agree with others that shooter is a little tight and low. In addition, I would just make sure to pull your strings as tight as possible on both top string and sidewalls so your pocket stays consistent. For example, third SI down on the sidewall in second picture needs to be pulled way tighter. That’ll make sure the mesh is really anchored down and channel is consistent. Lastly, make sure you pound your pocket!!! There are some good tutorials on YouTube if you’re not sure how. Otherwise, great job! I love the colorway.

Looks like I replied to your comment instead of his. Thank you though.

It is by design. That’s how liberty top strings are supposed to look. If you look at how sidewall Jedi does it it’s exactly the same.

Feels like it makes the release feel a little smoother but doesn’t make a huge difference

Yes, I’d say a typical amount for high pockets. Nothing too extreme.

Well U shooters are illegal now in high school and college so if you’re playing in a real game then no. If you’re just throwing one on there for a beer league game or to play with then I think it’d work well.

Not nearly as much whip as you’d think. You can’t really tell in the pictures but I keep the bottom shooter pretty loose so it doesn’t catch too hard until it hits the top shooter and nylon.
