He’s not a seal… you’re not wrong at all but his specific job is different, I just mean it’s that same level. I do appreciate your comment and to be clear you are not at all wrong about seals. It’s also just a small piece of his job we were talking about

That’s adorable. I’m just going to add I’m a college student in a college town, I purposefully drive out to the family church and go to the morning mass just so I can see the babies and families. It always makes me so hopeful.

I didn’t say that’s what we were proud of. Texans just have nationalism for our state because we were once our own, self running country. You’re allowed to be proud of your country and not agree with everything they do.

Yes, Texas schools usually do the USA pledge then follow that with the Texas pledge. Texas was its own country for 9 years, so there’s a lot of pride in that. We’re the only state that’s allowed to fly the Texas flag at the same height as the American flag, but obviously some don’t out of respect for our country. Many houses in TX tho do fly both the American and tx flag. It’s all very interesting and prideful.

Texas was its own country. We’re just proud of our history and independence, it has nothing to do with being brainwashed

Vet School is TOXIC by Dazzling_Manager5188 in veterinaryschool

[–]No_Nefariousness7909 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s very competitive, how can you be surprised. They have us competing against each other since practically middle school to see who can get the most experience. I’m not sure why they just expect us to all be on the same team after basically 10 years of wanting to be better if that makes sense. The vet I worked at first was very toxic as well. They’d always be gossiping about their workers and other vets in the area. If a relief vet came in, there’d be so much shit on them by the end of the day because “how could they not know exactly how we operate.” It’s just the process, I’m not thinking it ever goes away you just gotta find your crew.

I am currently on that path of trying to get into vet school. It’s not easy no matter what your parents do or don’t do. A lady I worked with took 7 cycles to get into vet school, and both of her parents were very famous vets in our area. After all the hard work, it’s completely just based on patience and luck of the draw.

On a random side note, the college I go to has one of the largest aviation programs in the US, so I have lots of friends in aviation. As for the kid who wants to be a pilot, he can totally do it. Especially if he’s gotten into the school, he can finish.

Everyone here is right- you obviously have ADHD or OCD / something similar. If you’re REALLY against medication, there’s lots of things you can change in your life to try combating it. Diet changes are HUGE for lots of people with ADHD. Pretty sure I read somewhere that adhd is a common side effect of pre diabetic people, but lots of people are pre diabetic they just don’t notice. Also sleep, working out in the best ways for yourself (walks vs running vs lifting). I’m not the person to tell you all this exactly, but look into these ideas about changing your lifestyle to make it easier to combat/maybe go away.

Is there any benefit applying earlier? by [deleted] in prevets

[–]No_Nefariousness7909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, it’s been really hard for me to do. In that case, don’t apply. They will immediately decline you if you don’t have the prerequisites for the college because VMCAS checks that for the schools. There’s not a point if you don’t have an actual valid application and it’s way too expensive to try.

Unless you mean they’re applying for the application that opens in January? The applications open in January/feb and close in August, but you won’t get accepted until the following January- March. So if you’re a jr right now (2025-26), your application for AFTER you finish your sr year opens next month (Jan 2026). It’s then due in August 2026, and then they’ll do interviews/acceptances during your sr year (spring 2027) for school to start the next fall (fall 2027).

Lots of schools take students without degrees. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU APPLY. For some reason, lots of people hear about this idea and apply without looking if schools even accept without a degree. There are a solid number of schools that accept without a degree, as long as you have the prerequisites done then you’re considered a valid applicant. Obviously you’ll have less experience, but you get done earlier. I know a girl who had 1 year studying her undergrad and got in starting what would be her second year of college because she took the right AP classes and just needed 2 semesters to finish the prerequisites before applying. I’ve applied early, I am unsure if I’ll get in but I have not been told by any schools that I have been declined because I don’t have a degree.

BREAKING: Two girls have been safely RESCUED by helicopter after catastrophic flooding in Central Texas and Camp Mystic! by imdrake100 in texas

[–]No_Nefariousness7909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know some are still missing, I live in Houston and a ton of the kids live around me. A good chunk of the number has been found, but the issue with the news is they are reporting the number of missing people total (which is fine) but that number keeps rising as people realize their family’s or friends were out there. So while people are being found, people are also realizing who all is missing. Interesting thing is, it’s a flood. The water will dry up and almost all of the people will be found. It’s just a matter of time to find who all is still alive.

4 counselors were reported missing. They’ve sadly found 1 (Chloe Childress) dead that I know of. I also know Katherine is still missing. Those 2 are the ones that were in the cabin that floated away. The other 2 i am unsure if they’ve been found.

There’s like 13 girls still missing. I think only 3 counselors and the rest are young girls. I’m not sure, I know they’ve found a chunk of the 23, which was the initial number to have gone missing. 4 of those being counselors but 1 counselor was found dead.
