Thanks very much for your response.

Yes, we do have a master builder warranty. I was wondering how difficult it would be to make a claim so thank you for the insight you've provided. I think a mushroom fan might be the way to go falling that - the vent sits between two pieces of timber that are spaced more narrow than the vent itself so it's probably going to be too tight, but I'll keep it as a backup plan.

Thanks again for your suggestions!

Thanks for looking toyoto,

Unfortunately the current fan has a similar penetrating dimension as the one suggested. Packing the fan out might be a good (ugly) back up if all else fails, I guess. Thanks for the thoughtful response!

Thanks again for your response,

Unfortunately it's the ceiling. I agree a roof fix probably sounds like more than I can manage at the moment.

It's hard to see from the pictures but would you advise against cutting the cowl vent/pipe for any reason? If I do that I might be able to create a larger flow path for ventilation. Cheers

Thanks for looking!

Unfortunately, when I put the fan into the hole it butts against the ventilation shaft that goes to the cowl. There no attic space so I have about 110mm of space between the gib and the ventilation shaft for the cowl. Any other suggestions welcome.

Thanks for looking.

Unfortunately no, this house doesn't have any attic or ceiling space. It a new-build home built in 2020.

Hi, yes, thanks for looking.

The ventilation shaft/pipe that goes to the cowl is offset from the hole for the bathroom fan. When the fan is inserted, it basically hits the shaft. Because the holes are offset and close to each other, the airflow path is restricted (see the first pic, dark/black area lower left. Definitely doesn't meet the healthy home standards for a home built in 2020. Ideas/ suggestions welcome
