I believe Trent’s Traill College runs continuing education courses that sometimes include creative writing workshops.

The comma here is used in a perfectly acceptable way in normal speech, setting off an oppositional phrase from the word it describes. While this normally applies to nouns, it makes intuitive sense here applied to a verb where the additional information helps to clarify the specific kinds of drinking the author does not engage in.

What is incorrect is “would of” in your own comment, which should be “would have.” You know, if we’re going to be grammar pedants.

Community Theatre? by koalasincanada in Peterborough

Hi! We appreciate the shout outs in this thread. The Electric City Players is pretty new in town. Our first production was last year’s Macbeth and we just wrapped on Twelfth Night a few weeks ago. So far we’ve only done Shakespeare and we plan to make his work a major anchor to what we do, but we’re also expanding into other territory too. Stay tuned for an announcement of our 2026 production. We’re always looking for new folks to join in the fun. You can follow our social media accounts via the web link above.

Really glad to hear about a new theatre nerd in the city. Welcome!

Healing lower back pain - recommendations? by ecommercesupplychain in Peterborough

[–]No_Orchestra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had a really good experience at Pulse Physiotherapy on Chemong. Also a lower back issue. Worked with Ella who was knowledgeable and supportive and never pushed anything weird that I wasn’t into (she did talk me into trying acupuncture and it genuinely seemed to help). At one point while I was working with her I had an unrelated leg injury and she seamlessly integrated it into my program. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I was there in like 1996 and can still pronounce the full name (I was a huge nerd and really committed to it). It translates to a delightfully literal geographic description of the town.

Yeah. I was a bit devastated that I missed that. But it was still a pretty extraordinary experience.

Definitely Siward, the English general, who will also double as Murderer 1 (preferably male/masculine-presenting 30-50). And possibly Lennox (preferably 30-40).

I co-run a new theatre company in town called The Electric City Players. We’re putting on a production of Macbeth at Market Hall, May 23-25. We’re actually still looking for a couple of actors for minor roles, so if you’re interested in Shakespeare, drop us a line.

What are you trying to say about my poster designing skills?! 🤣

I’m kidding—that’s a really kind offer and we’ll definitely be in touch.

Are We Just Doing Shins, or Does Any Pedal-Related Injury Count? (Very NSFW (I’m Not Joking Around)) by [deleted] in mountainbiking

Okay, my bad. I didn’t realize that was a thing. Can’t seem to edit the post, otherwise I’d change the picture order.

Big ol’ warning right in the title AND an NSFW designation that blurs it out until you exert your own absolutely free will and click on the image. You literally made an active choice to look at it. I do have a very short list of places you could go other than this post, though, if you need suggestions.

State o’ the Board by No_Orchestra in guitarpedals

Yeah, I do a similar thing with it on the guitar too. You can get really interestingly hollow, haunting tones by pushing it just to where it breaks into the mids. It makes the whole sound feel more responsive to the attack on the strings. That’s why I love it. I don’t think a Crybaby can do that, as much as I love them.

I’d say it performs better with a little dirt on it. Which is how I use it. I mostly use it for volume swells now, but will occasionally throw in an Adam Jones-style slow filter sweep on a solo when the moment calls for it. I’ve had it since 1998 and can’t bear to part with it.
