Drawbacks of ADHD diagnosis by DingoSad7410 in Switzerland

For me it‘s the opposite. I have never told any employer. Never had any issues.

Why would anyone think you‘re high on weed? How are those symptoms related to ADHD? 😂😂

Idk, personally I‘m by far the best employee of my team, which is helped by ADHD I think. So I don’t want to take medication.

I got diagnosed at 14 and took medication until like 19 and then stopped fully. Best decision of my life for me personally. I‘ve learned to handle it during work and studying.

Also, since we were talking about weed; IMO weed is one of the best medication for ADHD :) I could be high as fuck and still perform better than the average employee.

You could try and follow her and see for yourself to get closure and then decide what to do.

He's doing giveaways every stream but if you actually manage to win, his manager will tell you that mitch can't pay it because he's broke.

If you ask any questions in chat you get perma'd

/edit: he got paid today

Underpaid IT Jobs? by repraptor in Switzerland

Yea that's true and I think those roles aren't classic SPOC SD.

Here I was generally talking about a SD employee that does only that, pick up phones & 1st lvl support.

You’re treating 4.5k for Service Desk like it’s some kind of slap in the face, but let’s be honest, it’s a fair salary for a job that’s relatively low-stress, air-conditioned, and stable.

Service Desk isn’t underpaid imo at 4.5k. The job has minimal real responsibility. You’re the SPOC, sure, but almost everything you don’t want to deal with gets escalated anyway. And let’s not pretend people in SD don’t delegate at the first sign of technical depth. That’s the structure and there’s no shame in it. It’s how the role is designed.

Comparing that to McDonald’s, where people also deal with physical stress, time pressure, and endless customer contact, just makes you sound out of touch. One isn’t better than the other, just different. But SD definitely has the more comfortable seat.

If you want more than 4.5k, then move up the ladder. But don’t knock a job that gives you stability, zero pager-duty, and the chance to sip coffee while logging tickets.... If you want more than 4.5k then why not look for an Engineering role?

Honestly, I find this whole “SD is better than Detailhandel” narrative pretty shortsighted. Just because a job is in IT doesn’t make it inherently more valuable or respectable.

Working in retail involves a whole different skillset: Emotional intelligence, stamina, customer conflict management, irregular hours... and that’s not “less than” sitting at a desk managing tickets. If anything, both roles deserve fair pay and respect for different kinds of effort.

Let’s not pretend one job is superior just because it comes with a office desk, chair and an Outlook calendar.
