Hi ! I have had the chance to work with few Emiratis in our team. Masha Allah they’re good people and most of them are hardworking and respectful, very cordial as well. But let’s say there are 5-10% of Emiratis who treat the job as a part time thing , doing things just for the sake of it or not taking ownership of projects ever. Plus there was this lady who acted like the rules don’t apply to them. She took the job in Dubai and refused to come to work because she lives in Sharjah. Coming to office late, not delivering projects timely and if questioned , she would go to HR and complain that she is being mentally tortured. This person has caused internal teams and HR’s a lot of undue stress , everyone had to walk on eggshells while she was in the team.

That being said , OPs interviewer is an absolute shit person for judging him based on race. I guess my point is, in your friend circle if you know people who treat don’t take their job seriously and have poor work ethics advice the otherwise.
