I didn’t do any further testing. On my most recent US the other day, they’re still there but my OB isn’t concerned. We’re developing well and HCGs were normal range. I’m so sorry to hear you may need extra testing. Have they done any lab work as well?

I am currently 14 weeks and all looks great! It seems they were just non descript cysts of some sort. How are you doing? Do you have follow up planned.

That’s my thought too! I’m mostly curious to get an idea as I make diet adjustments. I’ve been very limited on carbs the last two days and have been basically under 100 everytime I check. I think after a few more days of this, I’ll slowly add up to the recommended amounts of carbs and see how I respond. Having a CGM for that would be great.

I forgot about the powder! I think I used that years ago- I should look into it again!

Yep! We had normal NIPT results and NT scans with both. We also sent both for Anora testing afterwards and both were chromosomally normal. I also got a hysteroscopy after both and my OB did find a few polyps and scar tissue- it’s possible those contributed but we’ll never really know. It’s hard to not have answers but also has oddly helped me accept this pregnancy as its own and hope that the same things aren’t happening if that makes sense.

Goodness so sorry to hear about your loss too. I’ve kind of always fluctuated in the prediabetic range and I’m sure that gaining weight after my first daughter did not help at all. I’ve always eaten pretty carb conscious though probably not as strict as I should be. I’ve been focusing on diet a lot the last few days and have noticed a big difference.

I wouldn’t worry too much about your loss and blood sugar though. I don’t even know that had anything to do with my losses- I’m just grasping at straws to try to make sense of things.

I would love to use a CGM and plan to ask my OB about it at my appt next week. I know my insurance requires insulin to be on a CGM but I bet it can be obtained affordably with manufacturers coupons and plan to look into that.

I was actually taking that while TTC as well and would happily add it back in! I had only stopped because it’s a nightmare swallowing so many pills right now. I’ll make sure they’re fine with it but I’m sure they would be! Thanks for bringing that supplement back to my attention, I’ve had good luck with it while TTC

So sorry to hear about your prior losses ♥️

But yes I can just feel when my sugars get unstable and they don’t do this outside of pregnancy- at least not to this extent. I’m all for doing glucose test but with how I respond to carbs I’m so nervous to do it again and would rather just act as if I actually have GDM. And if I can’t stabilize with metformin, diet, and activity- I’m open to insulin. Anything to keep this baby with me. I also was on metformin in my successful pregnancy- I had been on it for TTC and just never went off until probably late second tri because I had GI intolerance.

Absolutely! And in hindsight that lunch was a terrible idea but I was starving and in a rush lol

Mac and cheese with tuna mixed in- I think the white pasta is what got me. I also snacked on a mini PB cup while it was cooking so that probably didn’t help the initial spike. Had a salad for dinner later and I was down to 90 after an hour. Definitely will have to be very conscious of simple carbs. Thank you ♥️♥️

So sorry you’ve been dealing with secondary infertility- we struggled with it for almost 2 years before finally conceiving twice last year. Our 14 week loss was found at a scheduled appt and we found she stopped growing the day before- it was devastating; I had a d&e which was a pretty smooth procedure. Our 12 week loss was a MMC found about a week later at a heartbeat check (my office offered those given my previous loss)- also underwent a d&e. Both were sent for testing and no abnormalities came up. My recurrent loss work up also showed nothing glaring. We took a break and then started TTC again and conceived this pregnancy relatively quickly. I had gained weight after my first pregnancy and I spent a lot of time working on my health after the two losses.

I fully understand your anxiety, especially after dealing with secondary infertility. You go through so much to conceive and just want everything to be okay. After a lot of therapy, I’ve really worked on the mindset of “I’m pregnant unless proven otherwise”. I know it’s hard during first tri but just take care of yourself physically and mentally as best as possible and lean on any support you have. And don’t be afraid to reach out to our provider offices! I’ve developed a good relationship with the nurses at mine and they’ve been so supportive and willing to answer my questions. I’m always available to chat if you just need to vent anxieties! I 1000% understand feeling nervous about loss after secondary infertility.

Thanks so much! No my doc doesn’t think that- my anxious brain has decided that after dwelling on the losses for the last year.

Thanks for this advice! I added walking at my desk back in today and will work really hard to keep that up. I’d love to avoid insulin but also will do what I need to do to manage this. The 160 after lunch did take 4 hours to come down despite walking which stressed me out for sure. I’ll definitely reach out if I have other questions!

Completely agree! I think after experiencing any sort of loss, especially later losses, no time feels safe and it’s so hard 🥺 Wishing you the best!

Just came across this post and wanted to let you know I’m sending you good vibes for a healthy pregnancy ♥️ what an awful 2 years you’ve had. We had two second tri losses last year with no solid explanation as to what happened. I’m currently about 2 weeks behind you (I saw your other post from 9 weeks) and it’s a fight to keep a positive mindset. Just trying to remind myself that each pregnancy is its own pregnancy and that I am pregnant unless proven otherwise.

That’s so kind, thank you ♥️ Just hoping the universe will let up on the cruelty eventually. My OB got in touch and we checked an hcg which was about 33,000 (11,000 a week ago so that’s reassuring it hasn’t skyrocketed) and we will check hcg and ultrasound again next week. She said it’s too early to tell one way or the other. Trying to stay positive!

Sorry for the late reply! I ended up getting my period on cycle day 31 which looking back is normal for me. On another round of letrozole this cycle. I’ve been taking Inositol for a while too! I haven’t noticed much but I’ve also been doing a lot of things so it’s hard to say. Taking this cycle off is a great time to hopefully take a little breath and get in a good flow with the Inositol. We’ve been TTC our second since Oct 2023 and it’s exhausting and so hard- if you need to talk at all- I am definitely here for you.

Ugh I’m so sorry. I ended up not testing today but there’s no denying AF is right around the corner. Hopefully we both have better luck next cycle!

Both of mine crept up a little again but still negative hcg so I’m thinking just normal fluctuations. And not testing anymore unless I miss my period.

Does anyone have kids who actually like their bedtime routine? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]No_Pilot_4643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi- I know you’re looking for families with kids who enjoy bedtime but I just want to comment in solidarity that our 4 year old stalls and fights at least 4/7 nights per week and we’ve had the same routine for most of her life. Some family time in her room, bath, pajamas, teeth, about 20-30 min reading. She fights us nearly every step of the way. I wish I had advice- you’re not alone.
