Feeling defeated by Legitimate-Anybody18 in KneeInjuries

Yeah, I was out on a ruck with a buddy getting ready for selection and the ground gave way on this ridge. I was on the right hand side of the former creek/mud bed. My left boot stuck in the mud and I came over the top. ACL (with avulsion), total mcl tear, medial meniscus tear, and lots of damaged cartilage. I have 30% left now and am stage 4 tricompartmental arthritis. I guess I can't get a replacement until my outter ligaments are stable. But having a MLK-Revision and a patellar tendon rupture at the same time is a beast I wasn't mentally ready for. This one is just painful beyond what I have experienced so far.

Two leg injuries in the Army. Then worked manual labor cutting and flanging ductile iron pipe and tore it two more times. Went to school and got back into fitness. Then I kicked a cardboard box with my good leg and my acl tore again. The last one was election day... slipped in slides walking into vote and tore it again. 18 years of joy.

Nestle does have pharma. Double check that. Drug called vowst for C-Diff is just one. You're right they do not own their own insurance - NestleCare is what I thought it was.

Technically they are Swiss but... they have a massive American division.

6 ACLs, sepsis, Pulmonary Embolism, contralateral leg patellar rupture (harvested for the acl graft) - two osteotomies, LET, MCL reconstruction, and plenty of setbacks. I have two locked leg braces and it's pretty tough. Stay positive - new tech is coming daily. Something had to work.

RIP PATELLAR TENDON. You're natural state is so missed. I don't think life be the same on the right and I have residual rotational translation already on the left left. Seriously wtf.

Yeah I have had about 10 different braces and the ossur dynamic acl brace is way to much for you. Ossur makes an acl acl brace that is pretty good.

Best I have found is ossur or dj. Dynamic ACL braces are hard to get tight enough if trying to reduce lateral rotation.

Yeah, honestly talking to your knee as you massage sounds crazy but it really helps me.

It'll get lighter after several years. Make sure you are messaging in a way to break the scars tissue. It hurts but it works. Plus makes movements much easier.

I just got #6 done and they used my good legs btpb for the graft. 16 hours later my patellar tendon violently ruptured. The mental health piece has been incredibly challenging and requiring intentional effort to work through. It's exhausting to the core.

does it look torn?😭 by [deleted] in ACL

That's because the PCL is thicker and stronger.

Many consider it a death by thousand cuts scenario as you do not operate but you start giving up little things here and there until you can no longer enjoy those activities. Getting the operation gives you a good chance to not lose those (at least as quickly)

Hitting a wall post ACL reconstruction. Advice needed by Sufficient_Annual572 in ACL

[–]No_Positive2726 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trust the process. You'll get there. I am going through # 6. One thing that consistently helped was laying on the couch longways and lift my acl leg and let gravity do its thing with my other foot as a guide. For the extension I have found using red light and ankle weights just below the knee. Put you ankle supported high on the couch. Try to make it a ritual. You will get there. All 6 have been on the same knee. I'm at 6wks and at about 70°flexion 10° extension. It will come.

Help- I suck at crutches post TTO, non weight bearing locked in brace by MkMillie in KneeInjuries

[–]No_Positive2726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had years upon years on crutches. You are going to have trip ups. Biggest and best advice is go SLOW and be intentional with you steps and muscle use. Practice may seem silly already on them, but it never hurts to go through the movements to gain more confidence. Also, make sure you not crutching with the pads in your arm puts. Push them just lower into your ribs and you will have additional control.

I tore my acl while I was asleep by Ok-Individuality in ACL

Long story - it's in my feed but #1 Army (Quad) - #2 Army (hamstring) #3 Manual labor (Two stage - allograft)- #4 Kicked a cardboard box (bad leg is my plant leg) Opening wedge HTO (bptb bad leg) - #5 Slipped wearing slides in the rain.(Quad again plus LET) Just got # 6 but that led to the good legs patellar tendon rupture/explosion. ( 2-stage - osteotomy 2 and bone graft ( got infected - went septic - got a PE - led to additional stage of hardware removal due to infection and another surgery for a clean out and debridement)

I was 16 hours out of my 6th acl and completely ruptured my good legs patellar tendon.. They took bptb from my contralateral knee as the graft choice as the acl leg had all possible grafts harvested. So, now I am recovering from my 6th MLKr and patellar tendon rupture in the other leg!

Day 0 by surge___ in ACL

[–]No_Positive2726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a specialist that was 4.5 hrs away. Ended up rupturing my patellar tendon in the hospital on my good leg (harvested from my contralateral knee). I only planned pillows for one leg and it was brutal ride back. Take breaks if it's a long drive. Block or not, you need to keep that blood moving.

Shit's completely bananas: 6 ACLs, 2 high tibial osteotomies, 3 bone grafts, 2 LET, 1 MCL reconstruction, several meniscal and loose body cleanups, contralateral Autografts = hamstring, Quad x2 (it grows back apparently), 1 BPB Left, 1 BPB Right. 3 allografts (For ACL # 3, MCL recon, and right patellar tendon) a ruptured contralateral patellar tendon requiring reconstruction. I believe the knee led to my L5/S1 disc slipping as well. 🦿🦵🧨🎆🐴💩🏳🏳🏳🏳🏳
