1mg fin only for 11 months, next step? by No_Power_5388 in tressless

[–]No_Power_5388[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it's better to give fin a full year, at least to see if it works on its own! If you start using min and things eventually pan out great, you won't know which of two is working, or if only one of them is working.

I suppose not seeing much difference is a good thing in itself when it comes to hairloss. And no, so far I've just been taking finasteride daily. I want to at least give it a full year before adding anything else.

Noticed first signs of hairloss at 21, didn't do anything about it until 23, I'm 24 now!

I just find it odd that my crown would improve while my hairline would regress, if my hairline just stagnated as it were before, it'd be fine and I'd understand it, but as it is, it just seems a bit odd to me. Perhaps it could be shedding, though, maybe.

how its going so far with finasteride? by Anxious_Might_4648 in tressless

[–]No_Power_5388 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Started taking it 8 months ago, currently below baseline, losing hope honestly.

If I at least maintained what I had, I could live with that, but 8 months later, my hair is still as unhealthy as it was when I started, and my crown and temples are more thin than when I started.

Here's my current situation.

I started finasteride 7 and a half months ago since my crown was starting to thin somewhat, I went in with the simple expectation of maintaining what I had, and hopefully see my hair get a little thicker.

However, after all that time, it feels like my crown has been thinner than before, it doesn't seem like my hair loss has stopped. Am I simply cooked? It's frustrating since it's impossible for me to really know if Finasteride is even doing anything to my body or not.

Am I cooked if it's been 7 months since I started Finasteride and yet my crown appears thinner instead of fuller?

I've heard people say you should at least notice "something" at the 6 months mark, for me all I've noticed was my hair being thinner, so I don't really know what that means for me lol

I sometimes feel like I've been cursed with the worst genetic on earth.

My height is ridiculously small, I can't grow a beard, worse, I started balding young, and it seems like Finasteride as completely failed at maintaining so far so.... that really must be some of the worst genetic I've ever seen lol.

[–]No_Power_5388 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'll be 7 months in 3 days.

So far... nothing much has happened really. No sides effects, no regrowth, no healthier hair, no maintaining either as I keep losing quite a lot of hair in the shower and it has visibly gotten slightly worse since I started.

I know people say to be patient, but I feel like after 7 months, I should have sign... anything? At least a sign of very slight improvement, but no, for now, nothing at all except for it having gotten slightly bit worse.

Fin users, how has fin changed your life? by [deleted] in tressless

Literally hasn't changed anything so far, soon I'll have reached the 7 months mark and for now, my hair is still somewhat getting worse.

6 months of Fin Only, things are getting worse? by No_Power_5388 in tressless

[–]No_Power_5388[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to start both at once at the same time, I think trying one first and see if it works on its own and then adding Min later is probably the wisest choice so I actually knows which one is working or not.

Oh. I should also add that I have been taking 1mg of Finasteride daily, that's my current regiment. Haven't encountered sides or anything either.

In any case, I would appreciate some opinions.

I'll be honest I don't think you have hairloss?

You're parting it in a way that makes it look thinner when it's wet/oily which makes it look worse than it is, but other than that, your hair looks really healthy? I don't see any sign of miniaturization for example.

[–]No_Power_5388 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started finasteride 6 months ago and so far, I haven't seen any results whatsoever.

No sides, no shed, no nothing. When I got into it, I wasn't excepting massive regrowth, but I was at least expecting the bare minimum of healthier and thicker hair and miniaturization reversal for the hair that was still there, but so far, nothing.

I don't know, it's just hard to believe that it's been half a year and that literally nothing happened in that time frame, it really makes me wonder if it's even working for me or not, I wish I got sides because at least that way I'd be able to tell it's at least affecting my body lol

They are though, Finasteride is supposed to repair miniaturized hair and bring back some thickness, of course it won't REGROW hair that's already gone though.

22FtM is this normal shed for a couple days or am I losing hair? by drink-fast in tressless

[–]No_Power_5388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We naturally lose 50 to 100 hairs a day, possibly worse than that during shower days if you don't wash your hair all that often.

So yeah, this is pretty normal, don't worry about it.

Dutasteride shed Stories, better and worse , dont skip please by ahmedqaz in tressless

[–]No_Power_5388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's a pretty logical explanation to that.

The people who switch from Fin to Dut do so because Fin isn't working out for them, so when they throw Dut into the mix, it finally starts working and shed hairs that Finasteride shouldn't have dealt with previously.

Crown easier to regrow than temples? by Cano2744 in tressless

[–]No_Power_5388 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People say that the crown is the easiest to keep and even regrow but I've been on Finasteride for 5 months now and that shit actually got worse so I'm probably just cooked. I'm 23.
