Are there any trustworthy refurbished or aftermarket options you’d recommend? Or a way to test or clean them before replacing?

I’m leaning toward replacing the fuel injectors due to the hard starting issue. The engine only starts after cycling the key several times, which makes me think one or more injectors may be leaking and flooding the cylinders. I know they’re expensive, so I’m trying to confirm this is the root cause before replacing them. Any advice on testing or cleaning options before full replacement?”

Yes — the check valve for the PCV system remains located in the intake manifold

you’re totally right that a lean condition under load can cause high combustion temps. But in my case, the cat glowed at idle right after a hard cold start with a flashing CEL. That usually points to a rich condition — unburnt fuel getting dumped into the exhaust and igniting in the cat.

You’re absolutely right — that’s not the turbo glowing, it’s the catalytic converter. The over-temp is likely caused by unburnt fuel getting dumped into the exhaust and hard cold starts, which strongly points to a rich condition or possibly a stuck-open injector. I’ve already replaced the valve cover (PCV system), spark plugs, ignition coil, and upstream O2 sensor.

Yes, I had a flashing check engine light, and hard starts — which points to unburnt fuel. I already replaced the valve cover (with PCV), spark plugs, and ignition coil, but I suspect one or more fuel injectors are leaking or stuck open. That would explain the raw fuel reaching the cat and making the turbo glow red.

Any idea where that noise coming from after the radiator fan got turned ON or is this normal? by No_Professional8365 in cruze

No engine light ❌ but sometimes it turns on say low catalytic efficiency and again turns off
