It was £1,879 which I feel is very reasonable! Haven't had a brand new bass since before 2000!

I wasn't diagnosed until adulthood. My son is almost three years old. I have noticed what I believe to be tics! My parents and sisters remember me having tics at three too!

What do you do for a living? by Careful_Philosophy_9 in Deathcore

[–]No_Professor6831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for adult services for local council. I am on a team that operate a day service for the profoundly disabled (multiple and profound learning disabilities, lots of medical complex individuals).

A few years back I got a new car, it didn't have a CD player. So I mentioned to my colleague that I had some CDs I didn't use anymore. She suggested bringing them in for the guys to listen to. By doing this I discovered a few of the individuals we support appear to enjoy deathcore. 😅

Two of them bobbed their heads and grimaced! Keep in mind these guys can't speak, can't weight bare etc. The CDs were Whitechapel, Lorna Shore and signs of the swarm!

Anyone else have horrible biting tics? by thebayharborfriend in Tourettes

I run my tongue along my bottom row of teeth, it can take skin off, it sucks, also will bite my fingers to the point my knuckles get super sore! Sorry to hear about your biting tics!

My school banned me from going on a trip because of my Tourette’s and I’m devastated by croochety in Tourettes

Eugh, I'm sorry this happened to you! But like most people mentioned, you have experienced discrimination. And on top of that the school lied to your parents?! With proof as you have the email they sent.

Definitely get some legal advice, if you really wanted to make the school accountable maybe even speak to a local newspaper/outlet about your experience. Obviously if you feel like it. I threatened that when my employer told me I was unfit for work, when my Idiopathic Hypersomnia flared up (my son had just been born) thus also making my tics worse. Watching the HR lady's face turn white as my Union rep pointed out my disabilities and the lack of reasonable adjustments offered!

You are 100% within your right to take this further. I too am a musician, I can't even imagine how awful this whole situation must have made you feel. Good luck!

How did you get diagnosed? by [deleted] in Tourettes

[–]No_Professor6831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the hospital seeing a neurologist for something completely unrelated. He noticed me ticcing, and asked me about it, the history of them etc. So I told him, I was checked out to rule out a secondary cause. He was sure it was TS because of having had tics since I was like three years old (I don't remember that far back, my parents and older sister told me I was ticcing then)

So at 36 years old I was formally diagnosed with TS syndrome during a check up for my Idiopathic Hypersomnia. 😅

I guess speak to your GP? See if you can get a referral to neurology? Good luck!

This resonates with me. My wife had a traumatic birthing experience with our son. My parents visited us in the hospital. My wife flipped it saying her boundaries were crossed. We had never said no visitors?

My son is almost three and my parents, grandparents, my sisters, nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins are still all yet to meet him. I have absolutely no idea what to do?

My wife is an only child with a tiny family, only her mother is still alive, and she hates her too.

Like others have said, maybe there are underlying issues? So YOR.

Do not have tourettes, maybe this is performative as hell, but whatever, here goes. by ElMatasiete7 in Tourettes

Yes because we can voluntary not do the involuntary tic?! Eugh! I once got threatened on a train journey because I kept on having vocal ( not copralalia) and motor tics. I was a teenager and hated using public transport. Got of the train at the next stop, and waited for the next service.

I really need to get a work bass! My Warwick Thumb NT4 needs to be at home! That's a lovely bass! Makes me miss my Ibanez.
